Before surgery, my malocclusion was so severe that I had never once eaten food with my front teeth. Because of the malocclusion, I also felt very intimidated about my appearance. So from a young age, I was determined that I definitely needed to have double jaw surgery, and last December I had double jaw surgery and three types of facial contouring surgery (square jaw_chin_cheekbones) at Y Oral, and now I am 6 months post-op.
They say that by 6 months after surgery, most of the swelling goes down a lot, and compared to before, my facial contours are definitely more visible and the lines have become more defined. Also, my left side was much more swollen than my right side and would not go down easily, but now both sides are really similar. They said that even if a lot of swelling has gone down by 6 months, some residual swelling remains. I heard residual swelling completely goes down after 1-2 years, so I am looking forward to it.
A lot of the sensation that was absent after surgery has also come back. At 3 months, there was almost no sensation in my left philtrum area and right jaw area, and it felt like it was not my own skin, but now I think about half of it has returned. Sometimes I feel numbness and tingling in the areas where sensation is returning, but I think of it positively as a sign of recovery rather than feeling uncomfortable! Also, during orthodontic treatment, I don't really feel the pain well, so for someone as timid as me, I think this is kind of a relief. hahahahaha
As for food, I eat everything just as I used to. Still, I deliberately avoid hard squid or tough foods and am eating mainly other foods.
Now that 6 months have passed since surgery, as my appearance has improved compared to before, I have become much more interested in dressing up. Not only makeup and clothes, but also supplements, changes in eating habits, and other ways of taking care of myself healthily have become more interesting to me. As much as my appearance has improved, I have developed a habit of taking good care of myself, so I am even more grateful to the director. Thank you!!
