Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

5-month review after two-jaw surgery for improved protruding jaw and asymmetry

It has already been 5 months since I had two-jaw surgery. At first, each day felt so hard and long, but now it feels like that time has somehow become part of my everyday life. Before two-jaw surgery, I had a major complex about my jaw since childhood, and although I tried to improve it somehow with orthodontic treatment, I couldn’t get a satisfying result. In particular, even though mine was a surgical case, trying to solve it only with orthodontics actually threw off my occlusion, and I even ended up being advised to get orthodontic retreatment, so I eventually made a big decision. Most of all, the stress about my appearance was really severe. I had to cover my mouth every time I smiled, I avoided having photos taken, and after often hearing that my impression looked stiff and cold, I would shrink back whenever I met people. Thinking that if I didn’t have surgery, I would live my whole life repeating these worries, I worked part-time steadily from age 20 and saved up the surgery cost myself, and after a lot of thought, I made the decision. The reason I chose EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was that, during the roughly 5 years I was considering two-jaw surgery, it was a clinic I had long been interested in and watched while consistently looking up related videos and reviews. The review photos, clinic facilities, and the doctors’ skills and detailed explanations gave me trust, and from the first consultation I felt certain enough that I didn’t even feel the need to visit another clinic. Because I had felt an inner familiarity with it for a long time, I trusted it even more, and in the end I decided to have surgery there. Up to months 1-2, I had various discomforts such as swelling, sensory issues, and discomfort with biting, but now that 5 months have passed, I’m living my daily life well without major problems. Especially after month 3, rather than dramatic visible changes, I could feel my face gradually becoming more stable, and people around me often tell me my face has gotten smaller. In the past, I had a particularly severe complex about my side profile, but now that worry is gone, and instead I’ve gained confidence, so I feel good every time I look in the mirror. I’m currently undergoing orthodontic treatment alongside recovery, so there are times when my jaw or teeth feel somewhat sensitive, but overall I’m recovering with great satisfaction. I hope this can be even a little helpful to those considering two-jaw surgery, and I want to say that if you make a decision after long consideration like I did, meeting a good clinic and medical team is truly important. For me, the surgery at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery became a major turning point in my life, and I think I’ll be able to continue the remaining recovery process with a positive mindset.
