Hello. I had surgery with a septal support graft, ear cartilage, and silicone, and had everything completely removed after 3 weeks. Today is day 11 after removal.... First of all, after removal, my nasal tip returned to something similar to my original nose, so I wasn’t worried about that, but I spent my time worrying a lot about the slight saddle nose... Honestly, after removal I was scared to even look in the mirror, and since I had nowhere to go, I avoided looking at my nose. When I looked in the mirror sometimes, I would reassure myself, thinking, “At least it came back this much~.” So today, after a long time, I took photos of my nose and compared them with old photos... What in the world!! It was very different. I guess I had gotten used to how I look now and thought it was similar to my old nose. Also, my eyesight is really bad, so even looking in the mirror, I didn’t notice the changes. First of all, no matter how much I explain in words, it depends on what each person imagines, so I’m gathering a lot of courage and uploading photos...ㅠㅠ... If you look at the front view, you can see my nostrils much more than with my original nose, right?? Originally, the nasal tip lobule was positioned lower than the nasal alae, but after removal, maybe the nasal tip lifted, and the nasal tip lobule is positioned slightly above the nasal alae, so even from the front, the columella is slightly visible. But personally, it doesn’t bother me... There are many people whose nostrils show about that much, and it’s not to the point where someone would immediately think, “That person’s nostrils show too much”... Am I being too positive...ㅋㅋㅋ............ I’m writing this, but still, I can’t help feeling disappointed about the nasal tip. The nasal tip lobule used to be round and covered the nostrils, but the nostril on the non-open approach side became triangular, so the nostril is emphasized more, and the nasal tip lobule is not perfectly round like before. The non-open approach side has slightly shrunk, so the symmetry is off, but in real life, I can’t really tell. Maybe I’m insensitive.. The problem is the saddle nose when seen from the side and at a 45-degree angle... This is upsetting ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I don’t regret the removal, but I really regret having the first surgery. Even if I regret it, it’s too late and it’s a useless waste of emotion, but my mind won’t do what I want, and I keep regretting having had the surgery.. because of the saddle nose... If you look at the photos, originally my nose had a sharper nasal tip in side view than after removal, but after removal, the nasal tip line has become very gentle. Well, since even the ear cartilage was all removed and the nose was dissected that much, I can accept that and move on, but the nasal dorsum that looks like a saddle nose is so upsetting... This is a big change to the person themselves... It’s obvious in photos too. I had a slight hump, so from the side, my nasal bridge wasn’t originally straight, but it also wasn’t such a curved nasal bridge like after removal. I can live while accepting that much... but there’s no guarantee I’ll never bump my nose in the future... I used to bump my nose a lot before too... And as I age and as time passes, the strength of the septum will weaken and it will gradually collapse a little, so if the saddle nose area sinks in more than it is now, I’ll truly despair.. There is such a thing as septal reconstruction... but that is a bigger surgery than I thought, and the cost is enormous too. Even when I search for reviews, it’s really hard to find septal reconstruction reviews ㅠㅠ There are a few where people had reconstruction and then silicone placed... I will never put an implant in my nose again, even if I die... Maybe because this is not a very common surgery case, there also isn’t information about side effects.. I don’t want to blindly rush into reconstruction surgery. I was hit hard by my first nose surgery.. Anyway, I hope this post helps a lot of people who are thinking about removal, and everyone knows that removing it doesn’t make your nose go back to the old nose... Of course.. I also thought it had almost gone back after removal, but seeing it from this objective perspective, it had changed a lot. But maybe because I’m used to my current nose, I thought it had all gone back. Except for the saddle nose, it doesn’t look that strange either. Also, the pain inside my nose is okay today. I guess it hurts and then doesn’t hurt. When washing my face, the sensitivity and tingling when touching my nose have almost disappeared. It really feels like touching my own nose..!! And right after surgery, as soon as I woke up from anesthesia and looked in the mirror, the area at the nasal tip where the ear cartilage had been showing through was sunken exactly in the shape of the ear cartilage. But during the 2 hours on the way home, the nasal tip swelled and the sunken area disappeared, and now there’s no indentation or anything like that.
