Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

I had my silicone removed.

I went to consultations at five hospitals and had it removed at the cheapest one among them. The septal cartilage and ear cartilage are still left in my nasal tip. Since I didn’t have it done at a hospital specializing in removal, I think I’ll have to do reconstruction somewhere else after giving birth and recovering. Silicone removal started with local anesthesia.. and took about 10 minutes until removal. It didn’t hurt much when they anesthetized me.. When they pulled on the silicone, the sensation was unpleasant for a few dozen seconds, but.. other than that... it came out more easily than I expected. There is a little bruising on the nasal bridge, but.. the swelling and bruising are not as severe as I expected. After removing the silicone, I iced it briefly and came from Seoul to Gyeonggi-do by public transportation. Because the bridge of my nose hurt, I had been wearing a mask whenever I went outside, but the area the mask touched stung and hurt so much, and even with just a little cold wind, my nose would throb and hurt.. They said it was because my skin had become as thin as it could get... If I had left it until delivery, the silicone really might have broken through.. Thankfully there was no inflammation, so everyone agreed that contracture probably wouldn’t occur.. I think it was good that I removed it.. First of all, my mind feels more at ease.. For almost a month I couldn’t sleep properly.. but last night I slept deeply. Because of the swelling, there isn’t a big visible change yet.. They say most of the swelling will go down in about a week.. and it will mostly settle in about two weeks. Since I only removed the silicone, there was no prescription for medicines like antibiotics. They didn’t do any taping either,. I just need to go back in a week to have the stitches removed.. Once the swelling goes down, my nasal bridge will probably disappear a lot.. Yesterday, after I got home and saw my face, I cried because I was sad...ㅠ Still, once the swelling goes down, I think I’ll have to accept my face without a nasal bridge now with a calm mind. For now, because of the swelling, the bridge still looks almost the same, so my husband says, “There’s not much difference~”ㅠ I sincerely thank everyone who commented and encouraged me during this time.
