People who had cosmetic surgery 10 years ago were the ones who just stacked ear cartilage without a support pillar, right? But among people who stacked ear cartilage on top, there are many who say that over time or as they get older, the ear cartilage and skin wear down and start showing through. The support-pillar technique that's relatively recent in cosmetic surgery... If the support pillar also wears down against the alar cartilage, the alar cartilage will wear down too.. But then the support pillar embedded in the columella would also sag under gravity, and the flesh of the columella would probably wear down because of the pillar too. So what happens to the support pillar in the columella then?? Is it a situation where you can't do anything either way??? Even now, when people want removal, many doctors seem to say to leave the support pillar in place...... I'm more worried about my own ear cartilage than about silicone. Silicone is easy to remove, right.... When I think about 20, 30, 40 years from now....
