<Before surgery><Before surgery><2 weeks after surgery><3 weeks after surgery><1 month after surgery><1 month after surgery>I had always hidden my crooked jaw and malocclusion since high school, but with employment ahead of me, I wanted to take photos confidently, so I decided to undergo double-jaw surgery.
There were not many options in Gwangju, so I had a consultation at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Seoul, and thanks to their kind and detailed explanations, I trusted them and proceeded with surgery. Right after surgery, the swelling was less than I expected, but at dawn I swelled a lot, making it hard to breathe, and I woke up often. On days 2-3, with the director’s help, I received dressing care and nasal suction treatment, which made me much more comfortable, and I managed the swelling by walking every dawn. Even after discharge, I had swelling and sensory abnormalities, but I worked on recovery by walking consistently. In week 2, I had the stitches removed and the discomfort inside my mouth decreased, and as the swelling went down a lot, I could feel that the asymmetry had improved significantly. As I was able to eat a wider variety of foods, I gradually got closer to daily life. By week 3, the swelling and pain decreased, and my facial line became even more natural. The foods I could eat increased, and as I continued walking steadily, my sensory recovery became faster. My stamina also improved, so I’m managing my health by walking 3 hours a day. Now that 1 month has passed, the swelling has not completely gone down, but only some firmness under the skin remains, and it is becoming more and more natural. My sensation has also almost fully returned, so I have no discomfort in daily life. I’m satisfied enough that the time I spent worrying before double-jaw surgery doesn’t feel wasted, and I recommend it to people with the same concern.
