It’s day 6 after removal. I had my hump shaved and also had osteotomy, so the impact was pretty big. Because of that, it was hard to guarantee what things would be like with complete removal. First, through an open approach, I had the 3 mm silicone removed, the Medpor used for columellar extension removed, and the donated cartilage removed too. It’s a shame, but the nasal tip tissue was badly damaged, so a little ear cartilage was left in the tip. Also, a small amount of autologous dermis was placed over the area on the nasal bridge where the hump had been shaved. I thought about removing everything, but afterward I felt it would be hard for me to adjust to my damaged nose, so I’m just going to accept the autologous tissue. The director said that during the removal surgery, he tried to remove the ear cartilage too if possible, and he even detached it and checked, but my nose became even lower than my original nose, so he used it. Right now my nose feels much more comfortable. It’s still very swollen, and stages like scar tissue and contracture are waiting ahead, but at the moment, surprisingly, I can slightly make a piggy nose and it feels soft. Well, my mind just feels much more at ease. After seeing the implants they showed me after removal, I definitely don’t think I’ll regret removing them. Even the ear cartilage left behind feels burdensome, so I wondered how I had tried to live with things like those inside me. There are still processes left until it fully settles, but I’m going to stay strong. They said it would become similar to my photos from before the previous surgery, so I’m waiting. It’s blunt because of swelling, but it doesn’t look strange. I hope those long, dark times will finally come to an end lol. The director encouraged me, telling me to smile a bit more brightly now, and I should try to do that too. Honestly, after removal, I wanted to forget everything and live my life, so I didn’t want to look at this community, but when things were hard, I found comfort in posts here and also got information, so I came back with that feeling.
