On August 9, my nose, which had been a low nose, short nose, and upturned nose, underwent nasal osteotomy, removal of both nasal sidewalls, and a procedure to project the alar base with septal cartilage. Today is day 8 after surgery. I think everyone has to go through the same thing for up to the first day after surgery: a face that is swollen puffy and the hardship of having to breathe only through the mouth. But I want to know how long I have to keep suffering. The hospital prescribed me painkillers and swelling medication for 3 days after surgery, and until I finished taking the medicine after surgery, all I was dealing with was the discomfort of breathing, the soreness from the stitches, and the inconvenience of not being able to wash. But after I finished all the prescribed medicine and from the day that was postoperative day 5, my nose started throbbing badly, and at night I could not sleep well because of the pain and a slight fever. I did undergo a relatively large procedure, nasal osteotomy (a procedure that creates cracks in the broad nasal bones and pushes them inward to narrow them and create a prettier nasal line), but I did not know it would be this hard. More than anything, I did not know the suffering from the treatment, not the surgery itself, would be this severe. I am male, and over the 24 years of my life I have been to various hospitals for treatment, but I cannot forget the pain I felt during stitch removal on postoperative day 7, and when they drained blood and pressed on the swelling in my glabella and nose. On postoperative day 7, the swelling in the nose and glabella was at its peak, and that was when the throbbing was at its worst. It was truly so painful that even the slightest touch brought tears to my eyes. I endured the stitch removal while shedding a few tears, and up to that point it was bearable, but in addition, to reduce the swelling in the nose and glabella, they inserted a syringe several times into a nose that was already hurting and throbbing... drew blood three times... and at the end there was the pressing treatment (the nurse pressing firmly with her hand). That treatment was truly hard. Is the pain I am feeling the same pain that everyone who has had a nose procedure experiences? And briefly, I will write down my symptoms as of postoperative day 8. I would be grateful if you could tell me whether this is normal. 1. My eye shape has changed. 2. There is swelling inside the nose, so breathing is more uncomfortable than before the procedure. 3. At night I have a slight fever and aching in my legs. Because the clinic where I had the procedure done (near Apgujeong Station) is a private clinic run by one doctor, perhaps because they are very busy, they have never explained our current condition in enough detail for me to fully understand. On top of that, the treatment I am receiving now is also extremely hard because of the pain, so it is true that I am a little angry and feel upset. Additionally, I have a follow-up appointment tomorrow (postoperative day 9) in the morning, and I was told that if there is still a lot of swelling inside the nose, another medical procedure may be performed. Is that okay in such cases? Usually, from the reviews, it seems like this is not a common case...
