I went to the hospital where I had surgery and had it removed. It’s been about 8 years since my rhinoplasty. I only had silicone, ear cartilage, and nasal tip tying. It was fine for a few years, but at some point the silicone started showing through. Indoors it showed through white, and on one side I guess you could say there was a visible border, it looked shadowed, and when I went out into sunlight, only the silicone area looked orange. The skin looked almost translucent... After worrying for years, I first went for a consultation thinking about revision surgery. After touching it, they said, “Your skin isn’t on the thin side, so why is it showing through...” They said that to solve the show-through, they could place something like scalp fascia over the silicone, or use Gore-Tex and lower the height compared with now. I thought and thought about it for a long time, and after hearing that Gore-Tex is difficult to remove later, I made up my mind to just have removal. I made time and went for another consultation, and they said it would be okay to remove only the silicone. They said that even if the nasal tip is slightly high, it looks prettier cosmetically, and remembering that I had mentioned considering filler later, they said filler can’t be done on the nasal tip anyway, so we should leave it as is.
I had surgery scheduled for 10:30 this morning, went to the hospital, and went straight into surgery. They said it was simple, so we should do local anesthesia. The anesthetic injection hurt so much. Once the anesthesia took effect, my nose... felt like something heavy was sitting there, as if it wasn’t my nose, then I heard something being cut inside my nostrilㅠㅠ I’ll skip what happened next... The surgery took about 45 minutes from when I entered the operating room, and after it ended, they finished the taping and I went to the recovery room, so it was around 11, or maybe 11:10. I put on a hat and mask, listened to the instructions, and went to the pharmacy to pick up medicineㅠㅠ It was actually such a simple thing... But they said the taping would be small, yet there’s a splint too...ㅠㅠ Today is a holiday, but I have to work tomorrow. I run a restaurant with my parents, and I have to serve tables. What should I do?
