Today, finally~ I got my stitches removed ~♬ As expected, the stitch removal was done by the nurse (I don’t think I’ve ever seen the doctor remove stitches;;;;) It happened to be the operating-room nurse who was there during my surgery~ haha Before removing the stitches, I briefly met the doctor at the information desk.... He said the throbbing on the bridge of my nose and the tight, squeezing pain between the nasal bone and nasal cartilage are part of the recovery process, so not to worry~ He said they hadn’t touched that area at all except for the irritation from removing the silicone ;;;; (On day 4, the pain suddenly got worse, so I called the hospital urgently haha) As expected, the doctor only said that nasal shape changes after removal, such as splitting or depression of the nose, are very rare, but he didn’t give a definite answer ㅠㅠ;;; Instead... when an implant is removed, a space forms.. and apparently our body doesn’t just leave it alone~ He said it has a tendency??? to fill it in~~ This is something I had also heard before surgery~ I’m writing this in case there are people like me whose nasal cartilage has slightly protruded to the side because of pressure from the silicone (only noticeable if you stare really hardㅠ)~~ or who are worried about depression or splitting~~ While removing the stitches, the operating-room nurse told me... that she had also had her nasal implant removed at this hospital lol (Somehow it put my mind at ease lolol, and as the doctor was going into the operating room, he casually said she was my senior in removal surgery lolol) She told me not to worry too much because it almost goes back to the original nose~~~ The nurse said it’s been about 2~3 years since she removed only the silicone while leaving the nasal tip in place... and she said she has had no problems at all;;; (Her nose looked very pretty, like a beoseon-shaped nose haha) They told me to come back in 3 weeks to check the progress~ and said I don’t have to come if there are no issues...... In the end, it means I should watch it for a month... I really hope I get through the month without any problems ;;; I got the stitches removed in the morning, and my mind feels even lighter, ninano~♬ ninano~♬ (I have to hold up well for a month ㅜㅜ) Since evening, the areas where the stitches were removed have been slightly itchy~ The pain on the bridge of my nose is gradually getting better too~~ Maybe the contraction phase has already started... I feel tightness in my nostril wings~~
※ Because of possible contracture, I gathered some specialist answers from an online Q&A site~~ Contracture can occur between 2 weeks and 1~2 months after removal, and it may be at its maximum around the 1-month mark~~ They say that on average, it gradually loosens, softens, and comes down over 6 months~1 year ;;;; Even if removal is done without inflammation, contracture can occur, but it is very rare~ Between 1 and 2 months, scar tissue can harden and look a bit more prominent... but after passing 3 months, when the scar tissue is loosening, it may improve naturally~~ Also, as it hardens, the nasal tip may look slightly lifted because of this, but this may not be contracture~ It also says that wrinkled skin on the bridge of the nose returns to normal skin;;;
Nose surgery really seems hard to go through... and even after removal, it’s so hard too~;;;; I vowed once again that I will never get on an operating table for cosmetic surgery again~;;;
