I’m pregnant and due to give birth in May. Not long ago, I posted about my nasal cartilage showing through and my silicone being crooked. But now that’s not the issue. I went to SMU, and they said my nose had gradually been developing contracture. Lately my nose has often been aching and suddenly feeling tight and pulled. The skin on my nasal dorsum is red too. My nostrils are clearly visible, more visible than my nose before surgery. At SMU, they said it would be better to remove the silicone. Even though I’m pregnant.. I think I stopped taking photos starting last year.. because my nose was crooked and gradually getting strange. Even then, I really ignorantly lived without thinking at all about what contracture was or what complications were ㅠㅠ SMU’s removal fee was too expensive, so I called the hospital where I had surgery and visited them. I told the surgery hospital I would bring an opinion letter from my OB-GYN and asked them to remove it, but they said they wouldn’t remove it. They said it has been 10 years since my surgery, and the contracture has already progressed as much as it was going to over that time, so at this level it probably won’t suddenly progress much more over the few months before delivery. They also said that if only the silicone is removed, there is the issue of not knowing how the shape will change after removal.. They said contracture usually involves inflammation in the nose and the nose being very swollen, but mine isn’t like that.. When I asked why my skin was red and why it throbbed, pulled, and hurt, they said it could be because a cold virus got in, and even if so, it probably wouldn’t cause a major problem, and told me to come after giving birth no matter what. I feel like my blood is drying up from the distress.. My husband, who came with me, is also telling me to trust the doctor and have surgery only after delivery. I desperately want to do that too. Why would I want to have surgery while pregnant.. I have had a cold continuously from early pregnancy until now. In early pregnancy, I lost my sense of smell and taste for a month, had ENT treatment twice a day morning and evening, took antibiotics from my OB-GYN.. I’m still taking antibiotics for a cold now.. My nose condition has continuously been at its worst. Can I trust only what the surgery hospital says? Every day is hell. What should I do? Please give me some advice.
