Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

One-Month Review After Second Removal

Right after removal, it was upturned and the nostrils were shaped like \/, but that has eased a lot, and they changed into a more lying-down shape like ㅡㅡ. Compared with my old nose, the nostrils show a little more, but the columella looks a little shorter. The nostrils look similar to when I had the support strut in, but back then the columella was long, so thanks to the middle columella, they showed a bit less in a \/ shape. Still, I like my nostrils now. I also like that my nose has spread out a bit, and since the upturned part is coming down very slightly, I think time is the medicine. However, as the swelling goes down, the pinched look is showing....ㅎ I guess repositioning does not have a big effect either. When I removed the silicone too, during months 1-2 it looked less pinched thanks to swelling, but by month 6 it hit legendary levels, so I am a bit anxious nowㅠ Still, compared with before removal, it is less pinched, so I hope the swelling does not go down more from here. From the side, it is sli~ghtly upturned, but it does not really bother me, and in terms of height, only the tip is higher than my old nose. I wanted a slightly wider and rounder nose, so I hope it spreads just a little more from here. Removing the support strut was a godsend... I can breathe well, there is no pulling in the philtrumㅠㅠ I can touch my nose freely too.. It feels like I have returned to natural. I am a student preparing for an exam my life depends on, but after nose surgery, I really could not concentrate on studying at all, took a leave of absence, and 7 months just evaporated ㅎ.. During the TOEFL exam, my nose felt heavy and my head hurt too, so I burst into tears right there lololol. Because of the alar reduction and cartilage excision, I do not think the shape can go back to how it used to be.. It has kind of become a third nose, but since it is better than the operated nose.. Even though my face has become uglier... I think it is better than later someday living with contracture or deformity and having to lower it with costal cartilage, so I am trying to just live without paying attention to it. In reality, by month 6, I could see the support strut drooping downward.. It was not even raised that much. I could also feel the skin at the nasal tip getting thinner, and I could feel that my nose was having such a hard timeㅜㅜ. Last week, I was worried and went to ㅈㅇㅅ for a consultation, and they said I did not need nostril lowering, the soft triangle area and the seagull line of the columella were not damaged, and after touching my nose, there was a lot of scar tissue, so at this level, 90% should come down with time. That put my mind at ease. If you are worried, it might be good to go get a consultation too. I also found out that I had a perforation because of a mistake at my first hospitalㅎ.. I had such a hard time because of removing the support strut, but other than becoming less noticeably ugly than my old face, there is nothing muchㅎㅎ I regret the surgery to death, but for the removal, I regret not doing it earlier.
