<1st surgery in January 2013> Dorsal hump + short nose + rhinitis + sinusitis
I was only going to have those fixed, but I got swayed by the clinic manager and ended up asking for a semi-upturned nose too.
I trusted the doctor, and since everything had gone well before, I thought they would do it properly. Please make sure to hear the surgical method in detail from the doctor. For the surgery consent form, at university hospitals the doctor explains it, but at a Gangnam hospital the unfamiliar clinic manager explained it, and I agreed to surgery like that. I was the fool..
=> Alloderm + septal support graft + incision
It is total nonsense to say there was no implant. Alloderm (cadaver dermis), septum, and autologous ear cartilage still count as “no implant”!
“No implant” means there was no silicone, Gore-Tex, or anything like that.
<2nd revision surgery, 7 months later> At first it was okay, but as the columellar support sank down, the columella dropped and my nose became diamond-shaped, and as the tip also dropped, from the side it looked like a witch nose. The bridge was Alloderm, but the Alloderm became uneven and lumpy. When I smiled, it looked pinched. A hooked nose. => I decided to remove everything!!! Around that time, after seeing a revision surgery on Shin Bong-sun’s nose, I felt this was not right.
On the day of removal!! The hospital said it was a simple procedure, basically like aftercare.. I thought, let’s just get the aftercare.. while saying, “It’s fine, the nose is okay, it just needs a little refining.”
Like an idiot, I fell for that and thought it was just a procedure, but after it was done, it turned out to be an incision + revision surgery.
Two incisions => stitches in the columella... inflammation => the columellar scar got worse Since this was a case where revision surgery was done because the columellar support had sunk, => they raised it as much as possible in preparation for the nose dropping. => The nostrils became visible.
<3rd revision surgery, 7 months later> Decided to remove everything!! This time, no incision.

After consultation, I did another stupid thing. I thought the Alloderm was in the hump area, and if everything were removed, the area where the hump had been shaved might cave in, so I asked them to leave just a tiny bit of Alloderm.
=> After it was done, the Alloderm was not in the hump area, but had been placed in the middle of the nasal bridge to match the tip.. The side profile shows the middle of the bridge slightly rounded.
Still, the doctor at the hospital I went to was a bit irritable, but seemed conscientious, so I liked that.

<2 years later> 1st: Alloderm + septal support graft + incision 2nd: revision surgery with incision (because the septal support graft sank, the tip became a witch nose and looked pinched, hooked nose, Alloderm became lumpy) 3rd: non-incisional removal (removal of the septal support graft + release of the tip, leaving a little Alloderm on the bridge)
I just stayed satisfied, and 2 years passed. (I feel relieved inside.) Not looking in the mirror is the best. If there is a difference from when it was removed:
The pinched look is a little looser No witch nose when smiling Front view nostrils (seem a little lower)
but The columella is visible from the front.... (I should have removed everything during the revision surgery) Scarring from the columella due to the two incisions and stitch inflammation is visible. The area near the columellar scar is bumpy and uneven, so it stands out more. The nostrils are still visible (my original nose was not like this) The pinched look is still there
Can I make it into a pig nose or not?? It doesn’t lift as much as before surgery. The columella is still hard when pressed, but I can make a pig nose. The columella is suspicious.. Did they really remove the columellar support graft? I did have the tip cartilage unbound, but maybe it didn’t return to its original position, I thought. Since the pinched look did improve a bit..
<3 rounds of scar tissue injections>
The pinched look is different on each side. The nostrils are still visible. The ceiling inside the nose has become thick. It seems the thickened tissue is being pinched from above.
=> Inject scar tissue inside the nose once every week
They usually pay for 5 sessions. For now, I decided to do 3 sessions and then decide whether to add more. The director is quite thorough.
The inside scar tissue loosened a little bit at a time. The area near the columellar scar also shrank little by little, very slightly.

They said there was still a little left inside, so I decided to add 3 more sessions. They said I probably wouldn’t feel much effect and told me to decide whether to do it or not.
After the 4th injection, they said the right side had loosened a lot. I didn’t feel it, but from the 5th injection onward, when I put a finger into the nostril, the thick part of the nasal ceiling felt thinner.
The pinched look at the nose tip improved a lot. I’m satisfied. Up to the nostrils, it’s close to my old nose.
After the 6th injection: I’m not sure. The doctor also said it was almost gone starting from the 5th.
The nostrils with the visible columella make me sigh every time I look in the mirror =..= The columellar scar... is the same as before. At least the scar tissue injections improved the bumpiness. But what do I do about the nostrils?? I want surgery to lower the nostrilsㅠ I absolutely do not want the tip touched, and I want a surgery that only repositions the alar wings to lower the nostrils. When I had the removal surgery, I promised they absolutely would not touch my nose again.
Is that crazy? Is there no surgery that only repositions the alar wings without touching the tip and without adding anything?
This week I’m going to a dermatology clinic specializing in scars because of the columellar scar. They’ll do laser and a skin graft. I really, really hope it works. The scar clinic says to watch it slowly for at least 6 months,
and I’ve seen photos of facial scars or scars on the skin and they looked almost completely better, but I haven’t seen photos of anyone who had a columellar scar removed, so I’m terrified it might go wrong again. I’ll post a review later after the columellar scar skin graft.
What do I do about the nostrils?? ㅠ Ah!! And something a bit absurd happened. I found my photo on the before-and-after surgery page of the hospital where I had my earlier nose surgery. Everything was covered, but it is my nose. It was probably a photo taken about a month after surgery when I revisited?? They chose one where there were no issues and it came out well, and posted it. It was a bit absurd.
