I used 4 mm silicone and ear cartilage. I did not have alar reduction. The doctor in charge said it wouldn’t harmonize with my whole face.
When I look in the mirror now, it doesn’t seem like there’s been a huge change, but when I look at old photos, I realize again that I’ve changed a lot.
I have keloid-prone skin, a lot of sebum, and they said my septal cartilage couldn’t be used, so I had many handicaps in various ways, but I’m satisfied.
My nostrils were originally uneven, so I wanted them corrected somewhat with surgery, but they said that couldn’t be fixed.
Maybe because ear cartilage was used, the ear where cartilage was removed hurts a little sometimes (when putting on and taking off tops), and yellow earwax sometimes comes from the auricle, but I’m satisfied with my nose.
Silicone seems to be a material people avoid these days, and I personally felt reluctant to live with a foreign material inside my body, but the hospital said they used it as safely as possible so it could last a lifetime.
I’m living safely too, and I’m doing well without any particular problems. I had it done at a university hospital in Seoul.
