Hello ! I had nose surgery on May 4 and had it removed on August 2. It was my first surgery, and I had it removed after 3 months !! It has only been a week since the removal, but because I got a lot of help from this community, I thought that once I had it removed, I definitely wanted to write a review too and help people who are considering removal. I had a hump and a long nose, so they shaved down the hump, did an osteotomy, and raised the nasal tip with a septal support strut. The bridge was done without an implant. Honestly, when the splint first came off, I liked it. But as the swelling went down more and more, my nostrils looked long, it looked high and pointy, and my alar area looked pulled inward as if it had been clipped with a clothespin ㅜㅜ I really couldn’t go outside looking like that... My impression changed so much, I looked older and like a witch... When I looked in the mirror, all I could do was cry. Life felt meaningless to the point that I thought I might really get depression, I had no strength in my body, and even though I used to love dressing up, I stopped doing that, stopped doing makeup and everything, and just wanted to give it all up. I wondered if I had really gotten nose surgery just to lose money and suffer mentally, and every day I lived regretting that I should have spent that money on skin care instead... It was really so hard ㅠㅠ For 3 months, I didn’t go out to have fun and just kept going in and out of this community, and I think I searched everything about removal !!! I think I read every post in this community one by one, from the first page to the last ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I started looking into hospitals said to be famous for removal, and I got the clear feeling that I should have it done by Director S at YS Saint, so I scheduled the surgery date right away. I’m thinking it was such a good decision to have the removal done by Director S instead of at the hospital where I had the original surgery. While removing the support strut, they repositioned the cartilage, and they did not tie the nasal tip again. I’ll have to watch the results more, but I’m satisfied. When I had a consultation at the hospital where I had the original surgery, they said my nose would droop if it was removed. Director S said it would be somewhere between my pre-surgery nose and post-surgery nose, and it really does seem exactly like a nose halfway between before and after surgery. There were people who said their nose lifted after removal, people who said it became a completely different third nose, and people who had revision surgery after removal, as well as people regretting removal, so I worried a lot until surgery, thinking, what if I become one of them... But whether I was lucky or not, my nose did not lift, the narrowed alar area and pinched shape improved, and as you can see, my nasal tip came back round and soft!! I really think I made the right choice by having removal instead of revision surgery, and I think it looks much more natural and prettier than my post-surgery nose. The drooping was improved too, and the hump is gone *^^* Everyone, I know it’s hard and you’re worried about the shape after removal. I really know how that feels !! If you only think positive thoughts, believe that you’ll get a good result, and go into surgery, I think you really can get a good result !!
