One Month After Silicone Removal

Hello. It has been one month since I had silicone removed because blood had pooled and caused pain after 6 years.

Looking back now, I wonder if the pain might have been pain created by my own thoughts. Every day, I came into this community and only read posts about side effects.. It feels like maybe I created pain that wasn’t even there..

For those who are worried because of side effects, I think it may also be good to reduce the time you spend searching for side effects a bit more.

One month later, I’m gradually getting used to how my nose looks, but emotionally it is still hard.

My natural nose had a nasal bridge, but the bones were wide. Because I had osteotomy, it is slightly higher and slimmer than my natural nose, but the silicone had been high, and because I lived through my 20s with a nose that had silicone in it, the way I look after removal still feels unfamiliar.

When I posted photos of my nose last time, many people told me there wasn’t much difference, and that comforted me so much and I was grateful. I had been soothing myself that way, but...

Actually, the day before yesterday, I met friends for the first time after removal and took photos, and I looked so different from when I had surgery. My overall impression became so gentle-looking.. sigh..

So I booked an appointment at the hospital this week to check my progress and also get filler.

The nasal tip is fine, so I also feel like I want to have revision surgery to put silicone back in through a closed approach.. But I’m worried that other side effects might occur, so it isn’t easy to make up my mind..

If there are people who had revision surgery and a long time has passed since then, I would appreciate it if you left a comment!

I still do not recommend silicone removal if there is no inflammation or other pain. Especially for those who are trying to remove it because they are afraid of side effects.. Once I actually removed it, what remained was regret..

I just hope everyone thinks about how they may look after removal too and makes a good choice.
