I had been doing well for a long time without side effects, but recently my immunity dropped and I kept getting sick often, and as time went on, the nasal tip started to show through and my nostrils seemed slightly more visible than at first, so I decided to have it removed.
I first had a consultation with the doctor at the hospital where I had surgery 10 years ago, and they said they would do a revision surgery at no cost, removing the ear cartilage from the nasal tip and reinforcing the nasal tip with AlloDerm..
I didn’t want revision surgery, and I wanted everything removed, so I had consultations at hospitals famous for removal in this community and had it removed.
Through a closed approach, I had the silicone and nasal-tip ear cartilage removed, and cartilage repositioning done. It’s day 8.. My original nose was a small nose with absolutely no bridge. A nose where sunglasses would just slide straight down..
I asked the doctor a lot of questions right up until just before going into surgery, and they showed me the photos again on the PC, explained things, and then I went into surgery.
Right after surgery, it didn’t look upturned, and I was kind of glad to see my lowered nose. (No splint here x) I didn’t have the capsule removed. I worried a lot about capsule removal because of contracture. The doctor said it was okay, so I decided to think of it that way. After waking up from anesthesia, I met the doctor again, and they showed me all the silicone and ear cartilage that had been removed and explained everything.
Right now there’s surgical swelling, so I’m happy that my bridge looks like it exists. I’m worried about how it will recover after the swelling goes down, but still, now that everything inside my nose has been taken out, it feels light and good.
