Hello, I’m writing a review at two months after removal. To be honest, most people have different nose conditions from mine, and everyone’s situation after nasal implant removal is case by case, so I wondered what use it would be to write a review, but I’m thinking of treating it as a personal record and writing consistently every month.
Before removal - surgery in the early 2000s with L-shaped silicone + ear cartilage, nasal tip contracture symptoms progressing Removal surgery - complete implant removal + nasal tip extension suturing + filling the nasal tip with scar tissue due to silicone indentation.
After entering the second month, my symptoms are: Because of the contracture before removal surgery, the scar tissue abnormally stuck to the nasal ala is becoming more visibly raised and attached, and I still have a subtle pulling sensation at the nasal tip. Because of the feeling that my nose is being pulled upward, I’ve been psychologically anxious and haven’t been able to sleep properly, but on the days I get scar-tissue injections at the clinic, my nose feels really comfortable, so I sometimes sleep for twelve hours straight.
The doctor also said that for the contraction phase at two months, this level is not very hard, and that if I manage it better, it seems like it will loosen up quickly. They said that if I “wait and give it time,” the shape of my nose will keep improving as it changes subtly.
Also, since I removed the implant while contracture was progressing, I was very worried and anxious about “contracture after removal,” so I asked about it. They said that if about two months pass without any problems without an implant, I don’t need to worry about contracture.
Still, they said that if there is major swelling of the nose or an inflammatory reaction at one month, there could be a possibility of contracture, so if anyone had suffered from contracture and then had removal, I think it may be better to avoid alcohol, smoking, or anything bad for the body until after more than three months. (This is just my personal opinion haha)
Still, because they spoke quite encouragingly, I felt a little relieved. This time I went and talked while looking at photos, and honestly, I think removal was the right decision for me. Of course, I think I have to let go of the appearance-related part, and if it really doesn’t work out, I’m thinking of at least getting double eyelid surgery haha
