1. Recovery process After removal, I was satisfied. My nose felt very light, my head didn’t hurt, and I was happy. But because of swelling, the shape was uncertain, so I was anxious. I was a bit anxious up to day 7. In week 2, I wondered whether the septal area had sunken in or whether it just looked that way because of swelling at the nasal tip. The bridge looked slightly shaved down, so it looked flat from the front.
1 month As the swelling went down, the bridge that had looked flat protruded slightly, so I no longer thought about getting risky filler. The nasal tip lifted slightly, and the nasal tip was still hard. A piggy nose was possible with some force and lifted slightly. The inside of my nose felt bumpy and strange. Still, mentally I was satisfied.
2 months My nose was firm, and because it was the contraction phase, my nostrils were visible. Twice, while sleeping, I felt a sudden strong pulling sensation. The swelling in the bridge was almost gone, so there was not much difference from my original nose. Sometimes when the bridge got tired, it swelled, which startled me that day, but it went down the next day. It also swelled when I massaged and irritated the bridge too aggressively. But it returned. My nose was still sensitive. 3-4 months The nose started to come down. The pulling sensation when making an “om~” mouth shape decreased, the nasal tip became softer, and overall it was settling into place. Swelling from irritation to the bridge disappeared. 5 months-present My nose has become much softer. I can make a piggy nose as much as with my natural nose. Only the columella area where the incision line is feels slightly firm. Movement from side to side is soft. My nostrils show slightly, to the point that you only notice if you compare photos. No one knows. It does not pull when I make an “om” mouth shape. Only if I make the “om~” mouth shape very strongly does it pull a little. I can still feel it recovering. The scar tissue inside my nose has improved a lot, so I can pick my nose well too (I am careful, but when I put a finger in to check, I can pick comfortably). The incision line is faint. When I grab the nasal tip, the firm cherry-tomato-like lump has reduced by about 92%.
Hello! Those who know me will probably know me.. Lunar New Year is coming soon, so I came in to check and ended up writing this ㅜ Honestly, after removal, I really stopped coming in. I thought it would be hard to look back at the past when I wanted to die, and since I was doing well, I worried I might get depressed for no reason. Now that I’m here, it isn’t as hard as it used to be.. It seems there are still many people going through severe emotional distress, but if you are in a situation where you have no choice but to remove it, from my perspective I just want to tell you not to worry too much. Even someone like me, who had septal extension, ear cartilage, and 3.5 mm silicone, is living normally and doing well like this. Something that I didn’t even know was cartilage or silicone was protruding inside my nose. One nostril was pinched, so my nostrils were different too. But my nostrils came back, and after removing the silicone, the protruding area went back in. Now, if I check inside my nose, there is only a flat scar like a scab, and even that is fading. A little over 4 months after rhinoplasty, I had lost 11 kg, but after removal I gained 9 kg back. (That is a bit sad.) That is how much I didn’t want to live, eating didn’t feel like eating, and I was depressed, anxious, and struggling. But with the people I met in this community, we relied on each other and communicated, and most people who had removal were successful. There weren’t really people whose noses became distorted like the monster I had imagined. Occasionally there were people dissatisfied because it was worse than their old nose, but most successfully got their daily lives back. So I endured. And someone precious I met here listened to my story, encouraged me, and said many kind things to me. So I lived. I endured. I decided to go all the way and had the removal. Now I live harder while reflecting on myself. I didn’t cherish myself enough even though I was already sufficiently beautiful, and I was greedy, trying to become pretty easily through cosmetic surgery instead of care. I was swayed by people around me and easily got on the operating table. And every day I grew, became stronger, my self-esteem increased, and overall my life changed as if a crisis became an opportunity. There were days when I felt it was okay if a day just passed by somehow, but now every single day is precious. Of course, I’m human too, so I have thought about wanting to go back to before surgery. Not because of the shape of my nose, but because whether it was bulbous or low, my natural nose was the strongest and most worry-free thing that was mine. But I am the kind of person who makes hardship my own once I overcome it, so when I get a little lazy, I deliberately recall those memories a little. Then I come to my senses, thinking, ah, let’s be grateful even for this much, because time cannot be turned back. Compared with then, the life I have now is like being born again. Honestly, now I am living a much more meaningful life than before my rhinoplasty while my nose continues to recover. Everyone, after removal, watch it over 2 years. Medically as well, 2 years is considered the time when it is fully complete. After removal, please don’t be too impatient, and before removal, please don’t be too anxious. For people who have not had removal yet, I thought the best review would be that I, someone who had it removed, am doing well, so I wrote a lot of personal thoughts. I will also be rooting for you. I’m sorry that writing this is all I can do for you. But as someone who knows that pain better than anyone, and as someone currently living after removal, being alive is the best thing. I had many bad thoughts and struggled, but I feel glad that I am alive. Everyone, no matter how the result turns out, please go all the way. You are all precious people!
