I had surgery for rhinitis (deviated septum) + nose surgery (silicone bridge, nostril reduction, dorsal hump) in 2018.
Even after the surgery, my nose was crooked and the nostrils were different sizes, and inside the nose one side became wide and the other side became narrow. The doctor said, "The surgery went well and the swelling will last 6 months to 1 year, so wait. Once the swelling goes down it will be fine, and if not, we’ll give you an injection." Of course the nose did not change, and I was angry just thinking about going back to the clinic, but I also didn’t have the spare money for another surgery, so I went back for a consultation 3 years later.
Even then, I only got to meet them 40 to 50 minutes after my scheduled time. After hearing the explanation, I was stunned. The surgical method from back then and the current method are different, and apparently the method changed starting in 2020. The doctor said they can do everything, but back then it was a non-recommended method and there was a risk of saddle nose, so there was nothing they could do at the time. (Then they should have explained that back then... I don’t understand why they said the surgery went well and mentioned swelling. The after photos also show problems...)
Then they told me I can just get a revision now and that everything would be covered by insurance, so I should come for a cost consultation. I was so dumbfounded that I didn’t even want to speak... That’s how the consultation ended. Rather than talking about money, I think it would have been appropriate to say that they were sorry or that they regretted the situation. If you have a deviated septum, please consult several places carefully... For a standard nose surgery, this clinic might be fine.
