EverM Double-Jaw Surgery: Choosing Double-Jaw Surgery at 43

This year, at 43, double-jaw surgery was a major decision I had been deliberating over for a very long time. Because of my age, I had many concerns before deciding, and it was not a procedure I could choose lightly. While researching hospitals, I carefully compared many options, and the place I ultimately chose was EverM. I was especially drawn to it because it specializes in facial bones and double-jaw surgery. The more I learned about the hospital, the more I came to trust it, and during the consultation I felt that I could confidently entrust myself to this place. After years of deliberation, I finally decided to have the surgery.

What concerned me most before surgery I had always been self-conscious about my facial shape. My face looked long overall, and I was constantly bothered by the jawline and facial proportions in profile. Even in photos, I worried more about my side profile than my front, and the stress caused by my facial shape was considerable. I wondered whether surgery at 43 was the right choice, but before it was too late, I wanted to resolve the insecurity I had carried for so long.

The day of surgery Finally, surgery day! When I actually got onto the operating table, I was very nervous and scared. When I looked in the mirror after surgery, it felt like I had entered a completely different world. My face was extremely swollen, and even moving my mouth was difficult. Recovery was harder than I had expected, and I struggled a lot with the swelling and discomfort. Still, since I had made a major decision and begun the surgery, I decided to focus on recovery.

Hospital room After surgery, I rested in the hospital room. Immediately afterward, I was exhausted both physically and emotionally, so having time to rest comfortably and recover was very important.

Changes after surgery As time passed, the swelling gradually subsided and I began to notice changes in my face. What satisfies me most is that my overall impression has become much softer. Before, my facial shape made me look somewhat stern, but now I feel I have a gentler atmosphere than before. When I look at my profile, I can see how the facial line has changed, and I no longer worry about my facial shape as much when taking photos. Of course, recovery is not completely finished yet, but I am truly satisfied with the results so far. Choosing such a significant procedure at 43 was not a light decision, but because I had deliberated over it for so long, I now feel more proud than anything else. There were many worries before deciding and difficult moments during recovery, but I believe it was a meaningful choice for me. Above all, I am happiest that the insecurity I had carried about my facial shape for so long is gradually being relieved. Some of you may also be considering double-jaw surgery at an older age. Rather than deciding based on age alone, I hope you will discuss your condition, health, and the need for surgery thoroughly and make a careful decision. So far, I am truly satisfied that I chose to have surgery at EverM.
