Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

It has already been six months since my double-jaw surgery, after worrying about my protruding jaw and facial asymmetry haha

It has already been six months since I had double-jaw surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at [Clinic A]! At first I wondered when one month would pass and when I would reach six months, but somehow I am already writing my six-month review haha.

I had malocclusion and a protruding jaw, and I was also self-conscious about my long face and facial asymmetry. Since my teeth did not fit together properly, eating was uncomfortable, and people around me sometimes said my pronunciation sounded unclear. I started orthodontic treatment early, which improved my tooth alignment to some extent, but after learning that some issues would be difficult to resolve with orthodontics alone, I decided on double-jaw surgery.

Before deciding, I watched many real surgical cases from different hospitals on YouTube. The results of patients who had surgery at [Clinic A] caught my eye, and the changes in cases similar to mine were close to what I wanted, so I went for a consultation. Director Shin explained my facial structure and dental occlusion in detail based on the examination results and clearly described the surgical process, which made me trust him.

Now, six months after surgery, what satisfies me most is that my facial line has settled naturally. As time passed, most of the residual swelling disappeared and my jawline became smoother. Compared with the early post-operative period, the change is clear, and my new appearance now feels familiar, as if it were my own face haha. I also feel good when people say my face looks smaller or my overall impression has changed.

I am just as satisfied that eating has become easier as I am with the outward changes. At first I mainly ate liquid and soft foods, then gradually increased the foods I could eat. Now I can eat most foods comfortably. Since eating had been uncomfortable because my teeth did not meet properly before surgery, being able to chew comfortably feels like a major improvement.

Daily life has also become much more stable. I exercise and live normally, and looking back at the time when I recorded each stage of recovery, I realize how much has changed over six months. At first I checked every day how much the swelling had gone down; these days I simply enjoy my natural-looking facial line.

I still have orthodontic treatment left, so I intend to finish it carefully. I already feel that having double-jaw surgery was the right decision, and I am looking forward to seeing how stable my bite will become after orthodontic treatment is complete. Seeing the changes in the areas I had worried about for so long, I am satisfied with my decision to have surgery with Director Shin at [Clinic A]. I will continue recording my progress step by step!
