<Right before surgery. Photo on the day after surgery>I had my nasal bridge done with Gore-Tex 11 years ago, and my nasal tip with septal cartilage and ear cartilage. I went to an ENT for a consultation about deviated septum surgery, and they told me I might as well do my nose too, so I did it at age 20 without knowing anything. My first surgery was done collaboratively by an ENT and a plastic surgery clinic. So I didn’t even know what materials were inside; they just said Gore-Tex was good, so I said yes. When they asked about the height, I asked for a low beoseon-style nose. But they just made me a long nose....
For removal, I received online consultations from ㄱㅇㅅ, ㅍㄹㅁ, and ㅅㅅㅇ. ㅅㅅㅇ gave the most detailed reply by email consultation, so I was drawn to them even before choosing.
My in-person consultations were at ㅅㅅㅇ at 2 p.m. and ㅍㄹㅁ at 5 p.m., but after the 2 p.m. consultation at ㅅㅅㅇ, I saw before-and-after photos of other people’s surgeries and liked them, and since surgery was available right away in the last slot that day, I decided to have the surgery. I canceled the consultation appointment at ㅍㄹㅁ and didn’t go;
The reasons I chose ㅅㅅㅇ were 1. The surgery date fit my schedule best 2. They showed me many before-and-after photos of cases similar to mine 3. They gave a thorough consultation
I had sedation anesthesia. It doesn’t hurt. From the outside, the area between my eyebrows looked like there was a lot of Gore-Tex in it, but the nasal bridge was barely visible, so they said it seemed to be my own nasal bridge. I thought so too. It was similar in height to my original nasal bridge, and even when I touched it, it felt like my own bridge. But when they opened it up through open surgery, my first hospital had shaved down my nasal bridge a lot, and the Gore-Tex adhesion was severe, so it was not much different from the height of my own nasal bridge. ㅜㅠ So they said that instead of removing the ear cartilage from the nasal tip as originally planned, they shaved it and filled the nasal dorsum with it (the part that became flat because the nasal bridge had been shaved). Because the adhesion was severe, they said I would develop more scar tissue than other patients, and my nose might also become lower.. This is because the previous hospital left it like this, so what can I doㅠㅠ Still, I was grateful because the director said they adjusted it so it would connect as naturally as possible.
My original nasal tip had a hump, so I chose to leave the septal support strut, and they lowered the strut to match how much the nasal bridge would be lowered. The ear cartilage from the nasal tip was moved to the nasal dorsum, and for the uneven nostrils and slightly lifting the nasal tip, they adjusted it with the nasal alae.
It was open surgery due to partial removal, nasal tip repositioning, and nostril correction.
I haven’t removed the taping yet, so the photos may not be very helpful, but I’m uploading them. ^^
