Hello! I worried about removal for 6 months and had removal surgery 3 days ago. I got a lot of information from this community, so after thinking about it, I decided to leave a review. First of all, 2 years ago I had silicone 4, a donated costal cartilage support, and septal cartilage for the nasal tip. I had no inflammation or contracture symptoms, and I removed them entirely because of psychological issues. (But when my physical condition was bad or I was stressed, the dorsum of my nose did feel tight and pressured.) I will summarize the process before and after removal. 1. Before removal I went for consultations at two places, ㅍㄹㅁ and ㅅㅅㅇ. ㅍㄹㅁ was cheaper than ㅅㅅㅇ, but unlike me, who wanted total removal, they kept suggesting leaving septal cartilage in the nasal tip. So that bothered me a bit, and after the consultation, the ㅅㅅㅇ doctor seemed meticulous and more trustworthy, so I chose ㅅㅅㅇ. 2. Removal Day 1 You go to the hospital, change into surgical clothes, and have a final consultation with the director while hearing how the surgery will proceed. Then they take preoperative photos, and after you stay briefly in the recovery room, the consultant tells you to go into the operating room. I had sedation anesthesia, and doing it for the second time was scary,,, The consultant comforted me, saying it was okay, they would put me safely to sleep and not to worry, and the director pressed my eyelids too, saying the medicine would circulate faster if my eyes were closed, but I opened my eyes wide and said, Please... watch my breathing carefully,,, I said nonsense, the lights shook, and when I opened my eyes it was over... (I worried so much about anesthesia, but I closed and opened my eyes and time had disappeared.) I woke up once in the middle, said nonsense, and then slept well again^^ During my first surgery, the aftereffects of anesthesia lasted so long that I lay in the recovery room for 2 hours, but this time I woke up in just 15 minutes. I felt refreshed. After surgery, the director explained once how the surgery had gone and showed me what was removed from my nose. They said my donated costal cartilage had been inserted really long, and there were two pieces. They said I bled quite a lot during surgery, so the swelling would be severe. They also put cotton in my nostrilsㅠㅠ (real pain) Then I took the bus home. When I got home and looked at my nose, I am not kidding, it was a Dol Hareubang nose^^ It was my first time knowing a nose could swell that much. The mystery of the human body. During my first surgery my nose did not swell, so the consultant at that clinic even said I had a constitution suited for surgery (thinking about it, what does a constitution suited for plastic surgery even mean), but this time my nose really got big. The glabella was swollen too, and with cotton in my nostrils, it looked even bigger. It was truly a beast-makeup nose from a movie. And the alar area throbbed a little too. 3. Removal Day 2 The very next day, I went back to the hospital for a follow-up. When they removed the cotton from inside my nostrils, I truly felt alive again. If you go and are getting an IV, the director disinfects it and removes pooled blood. They said that because I bled a lot, the inside of my nose could swell. When they removed the pooled blood, they pressed firmly along the nasal bridge, and it hurt,,,ㅠ It felt like pressing on a bruised area. Still, it is bearable. And when they remove pooled blood, do not breathe. I breathed and blood splattered onto my mouthㅠ Anyway, they disinfected it and applied ointment. I decided to go back in a week to have the stitches removed. 4. Removal Day 3 Today is day 3, and the swelling is going down surprisingly fast. It goes down so much that even my family is surprised? I am doing cold compresses, taking medication, and applying ointment. I am not really doing anything else. They said massage should only start after 2 weeks. The shape is similar to my original nose. My younger sibling also says it is exactly like my original nose. My mom says it is prettier than my original nose, but I think she says that because the swelling has not fully gone down yet and the nasal tip looks high. The nasal bridge area is still swollen at the glabella, so it is puffyㅋㅋㅋ And I guess the inside of my nose is a bit swollenㅠ There are times when it is hard to breathe. I think I will only know after the swelling goes down. I will post another review later after I get the stitches removed. 5. P.S. Before removal, I also worried tremendously and was extremely stressed about the nose shape and things like that. What I gave weight to was that I did not want to live uncomfortably with things like this inside my nose. I thought the stress from not removing them would be greater. I think the stress was worse because I had the surgery in the first place without knowing anything. This led to self-hatred, and that was even more painful. We live life to be happy ourselves, so if it is like this, what is the point of living even if people say you are pretty? I do think plastic surgery has an aspect of self-satisfaction, but I do not think it is a choice made perfectly for oneself. Everyone is beautiful as they are. I am so satisfied now, and a contraction phase may come in the future, but I think I will be more satisfied mentally than with the operated nose. If you have any questions, please leave a reply!
