Hello. Ten years ago, my nose collapsed due to side effects from septal surgery (so-called rhinitis surgery), so I decided to get rhinoplasty. I had it done locally with silicone + ear cartilage, and I lived fine for almost 10 years. Sometimes I had consultations because of tenderness, but the hospital said it was nothing serious, and since I had no time and it was far away, I didn't do removal or revision surgery. Then about 4 years later, while squeezing acne on the nasal bridge, I pushed it very hard. After that, maybe because I became sensitive or maybe because I really touched it wrong, the tenderness got worse, and there was a pain like the nasal tip was being tightened with a screw.. pain in the nasal bridge kept coming and going. The hospital where I had the surgery got annoyed and said it was because I was sensitive, so I should just sleep well. I had been stressed for a long time, so I decided to remove the silicone. If I followed my heart, I wanted complete removal, but I didn't want to live with a collapsed nasal tip like before, so I wanted to leave the cartilage. Because of the distance, I couldn't go around for consultations at several hospitals, so I worked hard doing KakaoTalk consultations and set a date. I also got my surgical chart from the previous hospital and went for an in-person consultation, and I heard the relieving? news that the silicone extended all the way to the nasal tip, and because the silicone had moved, there probably wouldn't be much of a split in the nasal bridge. The director gave a positive? answer that a poorly done surgery could actually turn out to be good later.. haha A few days later, I went into surgery, and during surgery it was okay except that I was so thirsty I felt like I might die. After surgery, the silicone I thought was 5 mm (the previous hospital lied because they didn't want to do revision surgery for me) was thankfully 3 mm, and they said there was no cartilage in the nasal tip. Then.. where did all the ear cartilage they harvested from my ear go.. lololololol -_- They gathered the tip as much as possible and harvested a really small amount of cartilage from my other ear to place on the nasal dorsum. Right now my nasal tip has had removal and was gathered together, but I don't think it's different from the nasal tip I had after surgery. The swelling still hasn't gone down, so I don't know, but it's slim, natural, and pretty.
This is where the skill difference from the previous hospital really shows: there is no right ear cartilage at all. My ear has collapsed too.. But there was no cartilage in the nasal tip.. lolololololololololololololololololol It feels like they took everything out, trimmed and trimmed it, then were like whatever and threw it away.
But here, they removed only the tiny amount they needed and did it cleanly.
Honestly, I feel so much more at ease. Now I don't have to be stressed because of silicone anymore. The only regret is that because my Korean patch wasn't installed (my fault), communication didn't go well, but as a result I'm satisfied so far. I'll upload photos before and after once all the swelling goes down.
