My nose was originally low with wide-flaring nostrils. I had it done in 2017, and because it was most important that it not look obvious, I went with a non-open procedure and adding silicone to the nose tip with something like Misco or Hico.
I lived comfortably for 3 years with no issues, but the problem is that it was too natural. People who meet me for the first time have no idea I had nose surgery, and if I tell them, they might even laugh a little. I even hear things like, “You only need nose surgery.” The thread placed in the bridge was just one line back then, and as expected, 3 years later there is no bridge height left. The area on the bridge has slightly sunken, so it actually creates more shadow. The alar reduction left a scar. The clinic's response was careless. They just said to wait and see after the swelling goes down. But I felt something was wrong right after surgery. It felt like the closure had not been done properly. Of course, I lived without worrying about complications. I had silicone placed in the nose tip, but I do not think there were any particular side effects.
The doctor did say back then that it might be good to raise the bridge a bit more, but I refused, so the clinic was not dissatisfied with the bridge itself. But now that I am looking into revision surgery, I keep hearing that the previous alar reduction seems to have been done in the wrong direction. (Too much was incised, etc.) And when I say I had silicone placed in the nose tip, everyone looks puzzled. I also hear a lot of people say they have never even heard of the clinic's name.
Conclusion: Nose tip silicone: the rounded, softly dropping shape was not bad, so I do not dislike it. Bridge thread (Misco? Hico?): zero effect. Alar reduction: left a scar. I have been told many times that it spread too wide and that too much was incised.
