5 years ago, I looked into a place that was fairly well-known and had double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty. Personally, I would discourage it if possible~ I thought of it lightly because it’s a surgery everyone gets, but when it actually came time to do it, it turned out to be a bigger surgery than I expected. And there are many small side effects that the person involved may not even know about, so once you find out, it can be quite distressing. After epicanthoplasty, when I close my eyes, vertical wrinkles form, so I’m considering restoration. They appear even when I close my eyes comfortably without frowning, and since they stay creased for more than a third of the day, they are wrinkling very quickly as I age. People don’t know because it’s when the eyes are closed, but I found that many people who had epicanthoplasty get these creases. Also, after the surgery, I became more stressed about my appearance, and the time my self-esteem was lowest was right after the surgery. + I went to consultations at a few places, and there was only one place that would do the line I wanted, so I did it there. (I used to wear double eyelid glue, so I already knew what line suited me.) But right before I lay down on the operating table, they marked a line about half as high as the one from the consultation. I talked to them and they raised it slightly, but it was still disappointing..
