Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

Reconstruction day 7 (splint removal, thin taping)

It’s day 7 since surgery!! For 7 days (technically 6 days.. I was late on the way and had to turn back), I went in every day and got injectionsㅠㅠ Not everyone has to visit every day. I was a special case because I used donated cartilage, not autologous cartilage, so I went as a preventive measure haha. For 2 days, my nose was blocked with cotton and it hurt so much that I couldn’t sleep. I tossed and turned in the car and had no appetite at all. From day 3 onward, the pain disappeared, my appetite came back, I washed my hair well, went around watching movies, and went around eating a lotㅋㅋㅋ My subjective swelling and bruising were about 10% of other people’s?? I put the ice pack I got that day in the refrigerator, not the freezer, used it for one day, and then didn’t touch it at all haha. No bruising at all!!!! First, even with the splint on, I could see improvement. 18 months ago, I met a philtrum reduction doctor who had no skill and only sky-high shamelessness. Because of scar tissue inside my nose, I couldn’t breathe, my columella became twice as thick as before surgery, it was uneven and deviated, and my upper philtrum was very lifted haha. After the revision, I saw that my upper philtrum had gone back in, my columella thickness was half, and I could breathe... (The left side still has a rubber sheet inserted, so it is still very blocked.) I was truly moved... Of course, what that unskilled person ruined cannot be restored to the original state, but I was so overwhelmed... With the splint on, that was all I could tell, and I spent an anxious 7 days worrying, “What if scar tissue forms?”ㅠㅠ Then today became the day for splint removal and external suture removal!! But what is this.. It hasn’t healed yet, so we decided to remove the external sutures in 2 weeksㅠㅠ Huaa.. When the splint was removed, there was a rubber plate attached haha. They said this is to fix the septum because it is weak, and it will be removed together on day 14 haha. Because that unskilled doctor who couldn’t do philtrum surgery also had no aesthetic sense and did fat grafting to my nasal alae, my alae became extremely chubby like a bulbous nose. They said they would improve this too, but I still don’t know about this part because of the rubber plate~ After removing the splint, they taped it with thin tape haha. It still feels dull and achy when I touch it, and the swelling is tight, but it looked pretty haha. Honestly, from here, I hope the nasal bridge stays the same and only the thickness and nasal tip come down slightly, but they said donated costal cartilage may be absorbed.. so I’m worried... They said they would provide aftercare/AS then, so I feel relieved, but thinking about going through this hardship again....ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Ah! One thing I’m worried about now is that the columella is slightly deviated to the left..... There was also very severe asymmetry before surgery, but this is a bit disappointingㅠㅠ They said there is a strong possibility it is because of swelling, so we decided to keep cotton inside. Even if it continues like this, they said it is something that can be easily adjusted, so I shouldn’t worry too much. I think I’ll be able to wait a little more comfortably haha. If it were my previous hospital, they would insist stubbornly that it came out well;;; absolutely awful

My acquaintance’s result was so good that after booking a consultation, I ended up having surgery just 2 days later. But while looking at reviews, I saw so many bad posts saying to avoid this place... that they come out during surgery to check progress, get irritated, don’t care after surgery, ruined results, etc., so I was worried. First, unlike other hospitals, the consent form had details about aftercare/AS written very well. I was also worried about the part about checking progress during surgery, so I asked my guardian to watch carefully, but nothing like that happened. Today, because of the surgery schedule, I also went early in the morning for my follow-up (they said if not at that time, it would only be possible after surgery ended). Also, when I went for follow-up and wanted to see the director, as long as he was not in surgery, he came and checked everything one by one. The operating room itself was not as clean as a university hospital, but as someone who has worked at a plastic surgery clinic, I did not think it was unsanitary haha.

I’m already worried about having to go around with taping for 7 days, but compared to the 7 days I went around with even the splint on, this is much betterㅋㅋㅋ I hope I can take this off soon and the swelling goes down too haha
