What was protruding inside my nose was not silicone, but something shorter than the length of a finger joint, something unidentified? (They said it was probably a piece of Gore-Tex) that had been inside;;; It was my first time seeing photos after the surgery, so I was flustered. According to the director who removed it, it seemed like a Gore-Tex fragment had been added on.. The more I learn, the more unbelievable my first rhinoplasty hospital is lol After removing the splint, I can feel that it has become lower, and the glabella area is very swollen. That’s about it... I don’t know about anything else. I just feel really depressed.
Due to side effects from a nose surgery I had 10 years ago, the silicone broke through and came out inside my nose.
Scar tissue started protruding 4 years ago, but I thought maybe it would be okay to just leave it as it was.
I guess this happened because I kept touching my nose all this time.. The nasal tip started hurting so much. I visually confirmed that it was silicone.
I urgently made appointments with places famous for removals, such as ㅇㄷㅇㅇㅇ, ㄱㅇㅅ, ㄱㅇㅈ, ㅁㅌ, etc., but they were fully booked so I couldn’t go right away. As my last option, I went to ㅋㅇ near Gangnam-gu Office for a consultation. They seemed to specialize in revision rhinoplasty. Some people may not know it and it may be unfamiliar,
but during the consultation, the director wrote “absolutely / urgent” on my consultation chart. He said it was an emergency situation and that removing it quickly was the priority. Anyway....
I scheduled the surgery for August 28 at 10 a.m. In the morning, I first had a consultation with the director, then proceeded with open surgery.. (There was no waiting time.)
For the consultation, I wrote out a full list of questions and brought it with me- Honestly, the director didn’t seem like someone overflowing with enthusiasmㅠ Still, he answered all my questions. After that, I went into the operating room, was put under anesthesia, and when I woke up the nurses were taping my nose. I had no pain and nowhere hurt.
After the surgery, in the recovery room, I received swelling laser treatment + cold compresses. I had a lot of questions, but I left without seeing the director. I’m not sure, but I think he probably had another surgery afterward.
On the day of removal, my eyes did not swell much. Because of the cotton inside my nose and gauze on the nasal tip, I couldn’t breathe properly, so I couldn’t eat or drink properly. The hardest part was not being able to sleep comfortablyㅠ
(On the first day I only brushed my teeth; washing my face was not allowed.)
On day 2, I visited the hospital and had the cotton and gauze inside my nose removed, and received disinfection + an antibiotic injection + swelling laser treatment.
The director came to check my progress, so I asked what had happened during the surgery.
To summarize briefly: L-shaped silicone and all nasal tip cartilage were removed. The reason he removed the nasal tip cartilage (the reason he did not reposition it) was that granulomas had formed all the way to the nasal tip, so he removed everything. He said he would show me the surgery photos and before-and-after photos at my next visit. The director seems to have a cynical personality, but he told me he did his best. It’s not that he is unfriendly; he just seems to be a man of few words.
I had hoped he would explain various things first, so that part was a bit disappointing..
Then the director went to consult with another patient about surgery. As far as I know, he performs surgery on 2 people a day!
After removing the gauze from the nasal tip, it wasn’t my original nose, but was it similar to my nose before that surgery? It was just that shape with swelling. (On day 2, my eyes and face became extremely swollen, and bruising started to appear.)
I became able to shower my body only, brush my teeth, and eat comfortably.
Day 3: Purple-blue bruising appeared around my eyes. The nasal tip shape was still slightly swollen, and the shape did not look strange. Because of the inflammation, my nostrils had become uneven, and during the removal surgery he corrected that a little as well. He said it was good to do cold compresses a lot, but because I was working, I could only do it about 2 or 3 times a day.
(From this point on, my nose was blocked, and the surgical area of my nose was itchyㅠㅠㅠ)
Day 4 I have a runny nose but can’t blow my noseㅠ The foreign material inside is at peak irritation..
As for the nose shape, my family/friends looked at my nose and said it looked exactly the same as before the removal surgery.
There don’t seem to be many reviews? from people who had everything removed, so I’ll upload photos after removing the splint. Judging only from the splint and the nasal tip shape right now, I don’t think it’s ruined. What a reliefㅠ
If inflammation appears or you have a reaction, definitely go get it removed..
If you can’t give up on the shape, you should at least have cartilage repositioning, but it was already too late for me.
Please remove silicone early and have the nasal tip cartilage repositioned, so you can live with a comfortable and pretty noseㅠ This was a week when I realized that nose surgery is truly a dangerous surgery.
The decisive reason I chose to have surgery here was that during the consultation, both the consultant and the director were not commercial, and there was no community event price (even though I said I came after seeing it in a community, there was no sales pitch saying they would make it cheaper or do it better).
Looking through before-and-after photos of surgeries for silicone protrusion inside the nose.. I actually thought a lot, “It was removed more naturally? It seems okay even with total removal.”~
Still, it depends on the case and the person. I recommend visiting many hospitals and getting treatment at the place you feel drawn to~
