Since I was young, my dental arch was narrow and my crooked teeth were severe, so I started orthodontic treatment with a removable appliance to widen the arch. But midway, something happened at home and I stopped, and my teeth relapsed to that state. Since I had still had some treatment when I was young, my bite was not bad, but the problem was that my deep bite was quite severe. (My upper front teeth covered all of my lower teeth.) So a lot of my gums showed when I smiled....ㅜ In the photo with the appliance attached on top, I had bite blocks on my molars, and if I did not have bite blocks, my upper and lower teeth would touch, so the deep bite was severe enough that they could not attach the appliance. My oral structure was not protrusive or anything, and actually at other dental clinics they said I did not particularly need orthodontics, but if it was for aesthetics, I should decide myself. But I started feeling more and more pain in the front tooth that was rotated the most, and I even had photos taken at a temporomandibular joint specialist hospital, but no one could really point to a reason. Even now, I have not received an exact diagnosis, but after finishing orthodontics, the pain is gone. I think it probably hurt because the tooth kept rotating.
The cost was not on the cheap side; I paid a lotㅜ But even though the director and the clinic were the closest to my house, they are famous locally for doing good work, and the director is an orthodontic specialist with a conservative style who almost never extracts teeth, so I was very satisfied. So even when refining the tooth shape with sandpaper after orthodontics, they did not make it look artificial and only did enough so the teeth would come together neatly. Now it looks natural, like I was born with straight teeth.
Anyway, I really, really wanted orthodontics, and I am satisfied. I do not really feel like my gums got worse, and since I did not have extractions, there are no particular side effects. If everyone is thinking about it, just do it...!!!
