Today I had everything! removed! I feel so relieved!!!! Whew
It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet, so rather than a review, this is more about what led me to surgery. hehe I meant to delete only the photos from my previous post but ended up deleting everything.. I know what it feels like to keep searching for reviews even on the way to surgery hehe, so I’m posting in case anyone was waiting for a review. I hope this helps everyone too.
Honestly, even when surgery isn’t cosmetic surgery, I think each person’s progress can differ. I think listening to what the doctor says about your own condition, whether surgery is needed, and the prognosis is the most accurate. (Of course, because cosmetic surgery has its own special nature, you can’t blindly trust only one place..) I’ll talk about my own case.
In early 2016, in my mid-20s, I got my nose augmented.
My aunt was going to get a nose surgery, and I happened to have time too, and my mom said she would pay if I wanted it... So as if I were possessed, I searched, had consultations, and got surgery. During the consultation, I vaguely heard that my aunt’s was probably a revision surgery.. but I didn’t ask. I didn’t think it was important. If I had even looked up why revision surgeries are so common, I probably wouldn’t have done it so easily.. Anyway!! I just think of it as a life lesson.
Since I was young, I had always heard, “You’d only need a little work on your nose,” and “Your nose is just a tiny bit lacking,” so honestly I thought that if I just did my nose, I’d become beautiful beyond belief. But that roundness was my charm and balanced my whole face; why didn’t I know that? hehe If there’s something I regret, this is it.
Anyway, I wanted to raise it just a little, but it was my first cosmetic surgery, and I’m originally not the type to talk a lot, so I only said what was necessary... hahaha Because I didn’t clearly insist, “Please make it natural!!!” my nose ended up being raised with silicone + donated costal cartilage + my own ear cartilage.
Because my forehead is on the high side, they matched it to that, and I got a glabella bridge I never had before. At first it wasn’t crooked, so after the swelling went down, I lived just fine. When I took photos with an app, the soft filter made the nasal bridge boundary not show much, so I thought it looked pretty and was satisfied.
But after about 2-3 years, even with an app, the nasal bridge looked too straight, and the two side profiles were too different, so I started avoiding photos. When looking in the mirror, with makeup on, I couldn’t really tell, so I just lived my social life and went out and had fun hehe thinking I looked pretty. Later, when I asked people around me, they said it was really obvious.. whew... Everyone just didn’t say anything; anyone could tell it was a surgically altered nose... Even my younger sibling said I only had my nose done, but my eyes looked sharper, so it looked like I had fixed my forehead, eyes, and nose. I finally had time now after working all this time, and I disliked the foreign-body sensation, it seemed to be getting more and more crooked.... I wanted to age naturally, so I decided to remove everything.
Among hospitals often mentioned in a community, I chose a hospital whose treatment focus leaned toward removal, and after consultation, I made a reservation.
In my case, what I hoped for after removal was: Nasal bridge - If it disappears, I’ll just contour it with makeup! Better than having something heavy. I really hate the visible boundary. I absolutely hate it when anyone can tell it’s silicone. Nasal tip - Ah, I wish it could be just slightly higher than before. As long as it doesn’t turn upward, okay. Surgical method - If possible, I’d prefer closed rhinoplasty.
Since that was about it, I booked and got it over with based on the doctor’s method of removing the nasal bridge implant and releasing and organizing the nasal tip cartilage + the statement that it probably wouldn’t lift too much hehe.
And after surgery (I used the recovery room alone, so it was very comfortable, and the staff were kindㅠㅠ)
After I woke up from anesthesia and came to my senses, I had another consultation with the director.. They showed me photos from right before surgery and immediately after removing everything.
And they showed me the removed pieces.
In the previous surgery, they had put in three pieces of silicone connected together, (a small straight-shaped piece was connected to another small silicone piece like a bridge..) and although I’d been told they didn’t use septal cartilage, they had used some, and on top of that, they also used costal cartilage..
Since I could smell well and breathe well, I wasn’t angry at the previous director, but in that moment I was hit with disbelief. Trembling with anger.
Anyway, in my case, after the first surgery, a lot of the costal cartilage had been absorbed, so although they removed as much as possible, because it was removed through a closed approach, a little may remain; they said it would not be large enough to be felt or cause inflammation. (Because of the nature of costal cartilage, a small amount would be broken down by my body, so I’m not worried.) And they slowly answered any other questions I had. Of course, I finished quickly and came out.
For now, after surgery, once I came to my senses and looked in the mirror, I was so, so satisfied. The artificial look was gone.. ㅠㅠㅠ I think if I manage the swelling well, there won’t be a problem. I’ll recover well and leave another review!
