At the time, I thought it was simply a protrusive mouth and had the consultation, but it turned out that the protrusion was not that severe and that it was more of a case where the chin was set back. They said it was not severe enough for something like ASO or double-jaw surgery, and recommended first getting extraction orthodontic treatment and then later having genioplasty, so I got orthodontic treatment at that hospital. Since the recessed chin was the fundamental reason my mouth looked protruded and my expression looked sulky, there was no dramatic change from orthodontic treatment itself. Still, my mouth went in enough that the shadow between my lower lip and lower chin softened a bit, and my teeth were straightened well. The orthodontic treatment was expected to take 2 years, but because I often missed hospital appointments, it ended up taking almost 3 years. I still wear retainers, but after orthodontic treatment, I did not have any major side effects. The doctor in charge was very kind too. But as I said earlier, I am very lazy, so even though I was supposed to go once a month, I went once every two months and got scolded a bit by the other nursesㅋㅋ...
Still, the orthodontic treatment itself went well. I was going to have genioplasty right away, but I was more satisfied with the orthodontic results than expected, so I lived without getting surgery. Recently, I decided to get genioplasty.
