7 months ago, I had 3-part facial contouring, cortical osteotomy, and deep cheek fat removal at ㅇㅇㅂ. As time passes, I can feel my face gradually settling into place. I understand why people say you need to wait up to 1 year after facial contouring surgery. To be honest, before surgery, I had a lot of concerns about my face shape. I was often told that my blunt-looking facial shape made my impression look strong. Even while looking into hospitals, I had many worries like, “Would the surgery be too much?” and “Do I really need to do this?” But during the consultation, the director analyzed my facial structure and overall harmony, which made me trust him.
I was worried that adding cortical osteotomy and deep cheek fat removal to the 3-part facial contouring might feel like too much, but the director recommended suitable methods without making it excessive, so I decided to go ahead. They also explained the preoperative preparations carefully, so I was able to manage things like fasting and stopping medications without difficulty. During weeks 1-2, there was quite a lot of swelling, but I followed the hospital’s instructions and kept doing ice packs and a low-sodium diet. From weeks 3-4, the major swelling started to go down, and I could gradually see my facial contours appearing. Walking and drinking enough water helped with swelling management, and those small habits really did seem effective for recovery.
At 7 months, my facial line has stabilized a lot, and thanks to the deep cheek fat removal, my cheek volume has gone down, making my face look slimmer. Especially as the strong-looking impression became softer, people around me often say I’ve changed into someone with a more likable look and that my impression has improved. In the past, I used to pay a lot of attention to angles when taking photos, but now I can take them naturally without worrying about that.
Sensation has not returned 100% yet, but I think it is almost fully recovered. There still seems to be a little residual swelling, so I plan to watch it patiently until the 1-year mark. What I realized through this surgery is that choosing the hospital and having a consultation are really important. Before surgery, I did feel anxious, but now the stress I had about my face shape is gone, so my satisfaction is very high.
Of course, facial contouring surgery requires a big decision, and every surgery comes with risks. But for people who had a lot of concerns like I did, I recommend at least getting a consultation. After hearing a specialist’s opinion, you may be able to make a decision more clearly than you expected.
