I wrote so scarily about the contraction phase at 2 months that a lot of you must have been frightened, right haha. Even someone like me, who had a severe contraction phase, is living fine. I suddenly started working yesterday, so I’m busy, but I’m writing now out of a sense of duty. I don’t want you to be too scared before removal or during the contraction phase. haha
Today marks a full 3 months and the start of month 4. My nose has improved a lot compared with two months ago, when it had become half its size, like a mummy’s nose, and looked like a flat hill. From the first day of month 3, the severe contraction phase suddenly subsided. Even in the morning it didn’t look upturned, and one day the nose that had looked flat and hill-like suddenly looked rounded. Both symptoms changed in just one day! Not gradually, but in one day!! I think it may have helped that, when showering, I kept holding my nose under warm running water. I still do it every day when I shower. (I couldn’t do the towel-in-the-microwave thing. At first it’s too hot and then it cools quicklyㅜㅠ). Right now I have no lifted feeling at all. 0%. The rounded feeling is also becoming more rounded little by little and more three-dimensional. There is still swelling, but I’m looking forward to how it will change at 6 months.
Also, toward the end of 3 months, the columella that hadn’t been visible started to show little by little!! Originally, around 2 months, when viewed from the front, the columella had disappeared, so the alae and columella were in a straight line, but now it protrudes more than that. It’s still slightly lacking, but if I wait until 6 months, I’m hoping it will come out more than this. I also gently hold and pull the columella down, and I’m trying everything I can.
Maybe because the contraction phase ended, the nasal obstruction is much less too. At 2 months, it would alternately get blocked, and if I lay on one side, the opposite side would get blocked, but now breathing is almost 90% comfortable.
The nasal tip and alar area still look quite swollen, and they feel numb when I touch them. It really seems to be going down very, very slowly. The stiff feeling inside the nose is still there. During the operated-nose period, the alar area was hard like plastic or bone, but now it’s hard like a tire. When will it get a bit softer?
The bruise on the nasal tip.. is still there ㅜㅠ I think it may no longer just be a bruise, so before it gets any later, I started applying scar ointment. I wondered if it might be an internal wound. Even though it’s faint, it shows even with cushion foundation, so it bothers me a lot. Strangely, it shows more when I put on makeup, and even applying more doesn’t cover it. Scar ointment is my last hopeㅜㅠ
Early after removal, maybe because it was close to the surgical nose or because it was swollen, the nose that had come down cleanly in a straight line from the side now has the middle very slightly sunken. My original nose was like that, so they said they ground down remaining cartilage and placed it there, but it’s sinking again. They said they would place remaining cartilage in both the glabella and this part, but I have no idea what was put in the glabella, and this part is also slightly sunken, so I’m a bit disappointed.. I don’t know whether it will keep sinking like my original nose from here or stop here.
My nose is still big, swollen, and the columella is not sufficient, so it bothers me, but compared with 2 months, I really look human again. My old appearance is starting to show. Someone said that people with a severe contraction phase like me usually have a poor prognosis after removal, but fortunately I don’t think my nose is a ruined nose. Honestly, before removal, I hoped it would be prettier than my original nose, but so far I don’t think it is. It’s less pretty than my original nose, and I don’t know how it will be once more swelling goes down, but from what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think it will change negatively.
For anyone who is currently in the contraction phase or not yet in the contraction phase~~ Even someone like me, who had a really severe contraction phase, is living fine. My nose also looks like an ordinary person’s nose. Even when my nose looked unsightly during the contraction phase, I never regretted removal. Just endure two months. Then you’ll get over one hurdle. Fighting, everyone!!
