I had removal done in Hongdae on July 23, and now it has been two months. They say the contracture period usually starts after about one month, but I don’t know whether it hasn’t come yet or whether it came mildly and I just didn’t notice. I don’t feel my nose lifting, pulling, or anything at all, so I’ve really been living without paying attention to my nose. I wrote a very long post before, and if you look there, you can find more detailed information about my surgical method and consultation. But to explain briefly again, my natural nose was a short, upturned bulbous nose. So for my first surgery, I had silicone, septal extension with donated costal cartilage + septal cartilage, nasal tip with ear cartilage, soft tissue removal, and alar reduction. After the first surgery, I regretted having surgery, and seeing my ear collapse because the ear cartilage was taken from the front made me cry every single day without even eating. After removal, I don’t exactly like the shape of my nose, but I’m spending each day without focusing on my nose. As you can see from the photos, my current nose shape is a mix of my natural nose and my operated nose, and the columella is slightly curled inwardㅜㅜ About this, the director said it could be due to the contracture period and told me to watch it until 6 months, but since I had imagined an even worse outcome from the beginning when removing it, this much of course hurts emotionally, but I’m trying not to pay too much attention to it. The reason I imagined the worst was that one clinic, called one of the “big three,” scared me by saying my nose would lift a lot and my columella would curl inward badly... so I’m just going to think this much columella curling is my karma, haha, and laugh it off.
