I started orthodontic treatment because, aside from my snaggletooth, my malocclusion was very severe. I ended up getting it from an acquaintance of my parents, had 4 teeth extracted, and got the most basic metal braces... I struggled so much for 6 years, and they looked so bad cosmetically. These days orthodontic appliances come out really well, so when I saw friends who had those, I felt envious too, but anyway, it’s over now, so I’m satisfied! If someone says they’re doing it only for cosmetic purposes, I’d try to stop them because orthodontic treatment definitely has side effects, but I’m still completely in favor of orthodontics... I think it was fully worth the 6 years. +Make sure to go somewhere close... I don’t recommend a place more than 1 hour away. Because of the nature of orthodontic treatment, you have to go to the dentist often, and if a bracket ever comes off, you need to go in. People I know who went to a dentist more than an hour away didn’t go right away and kept putting it off, so their orthodontic treatment period got delayed.
