I think the surgery was 12 or 13 years ago, and I had revision surgery 4 times because the nasal tip was crooked. I had the implant removed urgently because the implant had broken through and was visible as a white area inside my nose. Because I had to work, I could not look around properly, and I think casually going ahead and having it removed without much thought was the root of the problem.
After searching online, I saw that the removal fee was listed as 700,000 won, and since they advertised everywhere and came up a lot, I went there.
I do not know if that price was just bait, but a lot kept getting added on.
I paid close to 3.5 million won. I did not know what implant had been put in before, and at this hospital they said they opened it up and found this, so I paid the additional amount.
After counseling with the consultant, the doctor came in, and maybe he had come from doing something else, but without even sitting down, he just touched my nose and said they would only know after opening it up, asked me if I had anything to say, and then just left. (It took 1 minute)
After that, the consultant discussed the cost, and because it was an implant extrusion and needed to be done quickly, and she said the doctor had a lot of experience with removal and could do it the very next day, I was afraid my nose would become necrotic, so I suddenly scheduled the surgery for the next day.
That was the problem. Without even looking into it...
The columella side of my nose was pulled to one side, and my nostrils were severely uneven. Since it was the side where the implant had protruded, I naturally thought that if it was removed, the nostrils would settle to some extent, and the consultant also said it was deviated a lot to that side and that after removal it would become like my old nose. But it was just as severely uneven, and really only the implant had been removed.
During the consultation, they only said my nose would go back to my old nose. I never heard anything about capsular removal or what would happen to the nasal tip or nasal bridge. They removed it through an intranasal incision without removing the capsule.
Now, I do not know if contraction is slowly starting or if it is because the weather is cold, but a tightening feeling and a loosening feeling keep repeating, and when the tightening feeling comes, the severe depression in my nasal bridge is just visible to the eye. The nostrils go without saying.
I asked the hospital, and they told me to come in because they would only know after seeing it, so I went there after traveling 1 hour and 30 minutes. When I told the doctor about my nostrils, he seemed extremely annoyed and said what could he do if my own nose was crooked, then got angry and asked why he had to make my nostrils match. The consultant was next to him saying, "That would be revision surgery"... Then the doctor said to the consultant, "Isn't this person (me) the one who came because pus was coming from the nose?" (The doctor could not even tell whether it was pus or nasal discharge. He asked the consultant, "Does this look like pus? Does it look like nasal discharge?") It was like, "Wasn't it enough that I got rid of that?" I felt extremely humiliated and was really angry.. I was so upset that I just left. The doctor's arrogant attitude was so absurd. I was sitting, and the two of them did not even sit down and acted like they wanted me to leave quickly.
After coming home and searching online here and there, it seems people who had surgery similar to mine were told in advance during consultation about things like cartilage repositioning (of course I would have paid if there was an additional cost), but I really had it done with far too little information. My nose is in a terrible state now ㅠ One nostril is a horizontal straight line. The other is a vertical straight line, and the nasal bridge is sunken in with severe irregularities all over... Will it really become properly aligned as time passes... Currently, the straight-line nostril is half the size of the other side. There is a twofold difference... And on the protruding side, I can feel cartilage sticking out in the columella. Those of you reading my post, please really look into things thoroughly before going. You really must not take nasal implant removal lightly. Removal also really needs sufficient consultation with the doctor, just like nasal surgery, and I think a lot of information is necessary.
