Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

I had surgery to remove my nasal implant.

I had nose surgery 6 years ago from now. I had an area that was injured when I was younger, and while getting my nose worked on along with rhinitis surgery, I had an implant inserted. I lived without any particular problems, but this year, 6 years after the surgery, my nose suddenly became red, swollen, and painful. The tip of my nose was red and it became bulbous. I thought it was probably nothing serious and got prescribed antibiotics, and it improved, but not long after I finished the antibiotics, it recurred. When I searched on Google, I looked at photos of people with symptoms similar to mine and realized that the implant inside my nose was the problem. So I went straight to a plastic surgery clinic, had a consultation, and removed the implant. They said it needed to be taken out as quickly as possible, so I removed it right away. I didn’t know I’d end up taping my nose again and having cotton packed inside, but well... they say my body doesn’t accept the implant, so there’s nothing I can do.

To express how I feel, rather than regretful, I feel relieved. Maybe about 20% regret and 80% relief. They said if I had left it as it was, in severe cases the implant could even lead to a perforation of the nose. If any of you who had nose surgery have no symptoms or reactions for a long period like me, then suddenly develop something abnormal in your nose, please, absolutely, make sure to go to a hospital and get a consultation. I went back to the hospital where I had the surgery and had revision surgery, but at least get a consultation somewhere close to home. It may be more serious than you think. Above all, I sincerely hope that neither I nor everyone else will need revision surgery.
