I had mine done at one of the famous “top three removal” places in this community. When writing a post, a pop-up says that hints, initials, etc. are all not allowed, so I won’t say where it was. Anyway, it was a famous place here, and since I had it done in the fall of 2019, it’s been about a year and a half.
I had also left a review here~(Back then, without knowing much, I wrote a satisfied review..)
Mine wasn’t a complete removal. It was lowering the silicone height, removing donated costal cartilage, and repositioning the cartilage. So they put the septal cartilage in so my nose wouldn’t lift up, and they left the ear cartilage in my nose in case I might need to use it someday.
At the time, after surgery there, I had a reopening just one week later. Because anyone could see my nose was crooked~ But they said there was no point waiting 6 months and that it had to be done right away, so I thought, “They have a conscience^^.”
The line is pretty~ It’s pretty, but.. At the nasal tip, the septal cartilage showed through as if it were protruding. Depending on my condition, it wouldn’t show on swollen days.. On days without swelling or when I looked hollow, it showed so clearly.. I asked several times by KakaoTalk and also visited.
On my last visit, I got the feeling that I had become a bit of a difficult customer..^^ It was like, to their eyes they couldn’t really tell, but because I was fixated on that one thing, I had become a hysterical patient...?ㅠㅠㅋ
When I asked about fat grafting, they told me not to do it, saying that if I was already bothered by this tiny thing on my nose, I would be even more bothered after fat grafting.
They said, “The nose line is pretty, so would you have nose surgery just for that small thing? If we shave that down, the line will become less attractive..”
They’re right. They’re right, but.. I can’t just leave my nose looking pointy from the front just to preserve the line. And I also have a job where I have to show my face^^ so I couldn’t just ignore this and live with it.
They made it sound like it was a really difficult surgery.. saying a closed approach wasn’t possible either and that the alar cartilage would have to be excised, so I was thinking, my nose is ruined... Because they kept strongly trying to stop me..^^.....even though they were the ones who made it like this ㅠㅠ Why were they saying only I could see it and that it wasn’t severe?
But at a plastic surgery clinic I happened to find, I was told that it was “possible.”
Rather, that clinic looked through the list of plastic surgery residents.. asking if the doctor was really a specialist.. and why the surgery had been done like this.
They said the septal plate is placed between the alar cartilages, and in principle, it should not be set up so that it protrudes beyond the alar cartilage. If you want to raise the nasal tip height, you cover it like putting a cap on it with ear cartilage, etc., and they said they didn’t understand why the septal plate had been made to protrude more than the alar cartilage, creating this result.. They seemed puzzled. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
They said even if the nasal tip gets slightly lower, the best option would be to shave the septal cartilage with a closed approach^^ and cover it with cartilage from my other ear. Sigh... ha...... sigh.......... Why do I have to do my nose again? Why do I have to take cartilage from the other ear... again?

Meanwhile, since some people with saddle nose have it slightly filled with fat grafting, they said let’s see whether the prognosis would be okay with that method, and they even filled my nasal tip with saline.ㅋㅋㅋ After looking, they said even if I did a second round, I would probably only see about 70-80% effectiveness.. Then they said that while they really couldn’t understand the surgical method, the surgeon did seem to have skill with their hands; if the inside is damaged, it’s full of scar tissue and saline usually doesn’t go in well.. but the saline injection went in wellㅋㅋㅋ
And even without me saying it, they noticed that one side of my nasal tip was more gentle and the other side was steeper.. Why was it that at the previous place they said, “I’m not sure, you seem to be on the sensitive side so it probably looks more visible to you,” but at this clinic they caught it before I even said anything...^^
Anyway, on my way back from the consultation, I came to this community after a long time, and after seeing a post by someone who, like me, trusted the “top three removal” clinics and suffered losses, I’m adding one post too.
In conclusion, - Don’t trust them too, too much just because they’re called the top three for removal, - In-person consultations over online research. If a place you’ve never heard of online is obviously operating “for a long time” in an area where anyone can tell the land prices are “expensive,” that can be evidence that it may be better than places online where people say, “This place is good, they’re goodㅇㅇ” (of course, this isn’t a 100% probability either). If they don’t do marketing but can maintain a clinic in that building.. it means it’s a clinic people go to through word of mouth. That’s how it is when you think about it capitalistically. I didn’t know this. For my first surgery, I was captivated by flashy ads; for my revision surgery, it was famous in the community as one of the top three. That’s how it went ^^..
Anyway, everyone, don’t be too fooled by ads or online information. You don’t know who, where, or how something might be a broker, marketing, or promotion. It may turn out well there, but compared to the reputation you heard, you might also get a result that makes you go, “Huh?” I left this long post because I wanted to say that.
Oh, and I’m not promoting anything, so pleeease don’t ask which clinic I had this consultation at. I haven’t had surgery here yet either, and who knows? This place might also just talk smoothly and produce terrible results ㅎㅎㅎ
It’s hard to trust anywhere. They say the nose has to be opened three or four times. I thought that was because of side effects like inflammation, contracture, or necrosis. It wasn’t.. It was because of very small things that are minor but still become problems^^...
Because the nose is so important to one’s impression, that’s how it is. People who are well-off can do it prepared to have it several times, but for people who aren’t like that, like me, really just prepare yourself to spend a month going around for consultations, write down lists of all the clinics you see on the way to the ones you booked online, and if same-day appointments are available, try going to those places too. In-person consultations, the doctor’s aesthetic preference, and communication between you and the doctor are the most important!!
I’m not saying don’t get your nose done. Even if I went back to the past, I would still do it.. just at a different clinic^^
