I went around for consultations at ㄹㅂㄹ, ㅎㅇㅇㄷ, ㄱㄴ. They all recommended that I should use costal cartilage, and I'm debating whether I should use donated rib cartilage or autologous costal cartilage.
ㄹㅂㄹ - Director ㅇㅅㅇ Recommended materials: silicone + bulbous nose correction + rib I first showed the director photos of the nose I wanted and had the consultation. They said my nose is small and on the shorter side, so realistically it would be difficult to make it this high. They explained while drawing, saying that if they designed it to match my needs as much as possible, it would be about this much. I said I didn't want it too natural, and that I wanted to get rid of the bulbous nose. They said nose surgery with only ear cartilage and septal cartilage would be best, but because I don't have enough septal cartilage and there is a limit to raising my nose, they recommended costal cartilage. They said the best thing would be to operate with whichever I want between autologous costal cartilage and donated rib cartilage. I couldn't decide on the rib cartilage.. so I asked the director to recommend one, but this director said they explain the pros and cons and give the patient the chance to choose the material. So I heard the costs for both donated rib cartilage and autologous costal cartilage from the consultant and left. I liked the design they made, but I'm in a storm of worry because of the material.. ㅠㅜ

They said my nose lacks the support column to build it up, so with ear cartilage alone they cannot make the nasal tip stand firmly. In the director's opinion, autologous costal cartilage is the best material, but that doesn't mean they would recommend autologous costal cartilage right away from a first surgery, and here too they said choosing the material is the most important thing for me. After hearing this much, I started worrying that donated rib cartilage might droop, so should I do autologous costal cartilage? I also asked about things like scar size and recovery period. They said usually 2-4 weeks. They said autologous costal cartilage is the most definite material, but to think it over. I remember it as an ordinary consultation where they shaped my nose line with a cotton swab.

Since the previous hospitals recommended costal cartilage, I mentioned that and said it seemed like I would need to use rib cartilage, and then they first recommended autologous costal cartilage, saying it is safer, so I should do autologous costal cartilage. I showed the director photos of the nose style I wanted. (Go Youn-jung) They said it was a more glamorous style compared with my nose and recommended using autologous costal cartilage. They didn't say it was impossible or difficult, and said that since it's my first surgery, almost any design is possible. When choosing the nasal material, it felt almost like they had already decided the answer for me..? If I had started my first consultation here, I think I would have thought, ah, I definitely need autologous costal cartilage ㅠㅠ Still, they didn't pressure me to book, gave me a business card, and told me to think about it and contact them.
I had consultations with all representative directors. For reference, for the first hospital, it's better to book on a weekday.. It's a bit hard to get an appointment, and since peak season is coming soon, I think it'll be even tougher. The rest are okay. Taking waiting time into account, usually setting aside 1 hour 30 minutes should be enough.
