I still haven’t even had the splint removed, and it has only been a few days, but a lot of people were curious, so I’m posting this~
It has been about 8 and a half years since my primary surgery.
Silicone 3-4 mm? Ear cartilage, septal cartilage, donated costal cartilage support strut, and even the capsule were all completely removed through an open approach.
My original nose was a smooth, straight nose! Just a small, ordinary noseㅠ With quite a bit of exaggeration, maybe an IU-like nose?
The reasons I decided on removal were:
As I got older, the nasal bridge that looked like chalk was so unpleasant to look at, and magically my midface kept looking longer. More than anything, the skin on my nasal tip had become seriously thin, to the point it seemed like it would break through soon. As time passed, even the bridge, nasal tip, and columella became slightly crooked, and I really, really hated how the whole nose looked bentㅠ
I started looking into removal from 2018, but hospitals said the nasal tip would improve if I removed it, but it wasn’t an emergency, so I should think it over carefully and come back. I couldn’t even imagine life after removing it, so I used that as an excuse to keep putting it off, and then a problem occurred where less air came through one side of my nose..
So I urgently started looking again, and had consultations at a total of 4 places including the place where I had the surgery. At one of them, I even went for a second consultation, but I didn’t feel drawn to it, so I gave up.
Day of surgery
10 a.m. surgery When I came out after it ended, it was around 11:40? They told me to expect 2 hours, but it finished a little earlier than scheduled, so that was nice.
After the surgery, I came out more clear-headed than expected, which was also nice, and before surgery, I was most scared of waking up in the middle, but it was bearable and actually a little boring.. hehe The preparation process before surgery was truly so hardㅠㅠ
Life after coming home, I was so swollen I wondered if I was even human. I swelled so much it seemed like I’d had facial contouring, and I bruised a lot tooㅠ Even though I did compresses pretty diligently...
My nasal tip was red, so I was really scared, but thankfully it has improved a lot, leaving only slight traces, and the nasal tip swelling is very significant. Having lived my whole life with a slim, small nose, now that I have such a big bulbous nose, it’s so absurd and funnyㅋㅋㅋㅋ A bulbous nose gained for seven million won^_^777777 Even with the splint on, my nasal bridge seems missing lol The splint will be removed next week. No matter how firmly I brace myself, I’ll be sad, rightㅠㅠ??
From the second day, after the cotton inside my nose was removed, it has often continued to feel tickly and tight? and prickly. I’m thinking this is part of the healing process. A little while ago, I accidentally bumped my nose slightly and almost went to heavenㅠㅠ
Anyway, right now I’m psychologically really, truly very, very comfortable. A contraction period will come in the future, and I don’t know what will happen, but from the day of surgery until now, I’ve really been in a comfortable state! Even when I asked about my nasal tip being red, it was just at that moment. People who have had removals probably know what this feeling is like.
Why did I worry for 3 whole years over doing thisㅠㅠ Still, I’m relieved and grateful that I removed it even now. From now on, I’m going to love my noseㅠㅠㅠㅠ I hope everyone chooses a hospital that’s truly right for them and only walks a flower path!
