This is my first nose surgery, and I strongly had the impression that plastic surgery = Gangnam, so even though I live in Daegu, I went up to Seoul for consultations. I knew absolutely nothing about plastic surgery, so I just went without thinking much.
The hospitals I went to were in Gangnam/Sinsa: ㅇㅇㄷ ㅂㄹㄱ ㅇㅇㅂ I went to them, and after CT scans, they all recommended autologous rib cartilage. They said my septal cartilage was short? small? But since using autologous rib cartilage made the price jump to about double, I just thought that was how it was. The waits were extremely long and I was exhausted, and I got played by the consultant’s sales talk, so I paid a deposit at one of those places.. Also, one of those places was overwhelmingly impressive in terms of reviews, exterior, and size, and the price was also cheap, but later when I looked, the reviews were shocking.. scary.
I felt like I was being too thoughtless, so I came back down to Daegu and went around to several consultations here. Maybe because the hospitals are smaller in scale, they all said they would use septal cartilage (no CT scans). They said things like, “Why autologous rib cartilage for a first rhinoplasty? They’re just trying to charge more,” “There’s no such thing as not being able to use septal cartilage,” “I can do it,” etc. Some say skill is what matters, and I’m so confused. Maybe I trusted them too much just because they were Seoul hospitals.
What’s the right answer.. please save this plastic surgery newbie.. I’m so confused.
