Review More Than 1 Year After Double Jaw Surgery

My face originally had severe facial asymmetry, so this was a surgery I had wanted since middle school. I started looking into it in the summer when I was 20 and decided on a clinic. I thought I had done quite a lot of online research before choosing the clinics, but after excluding places that were too expensive, places that people said had many brokers when I went for consultations, and clinics that kept bringing up new surgical methods, only this place remained. I think the director also spoke to me quite realistically.

To just give the conclusion, I'm satisfied with the surgery. However, my face fat and jawline fat look more prominent, and my side cheekbones have become more noticeable than before. I used to feel like I did not have much facial fat and thought my face was on the long side, but after surgery my face became very round. Unless you are thin, I think combining dieting after double jaw surgery would make the results more effective. Still, my asymmetry improved to some extent, my protruding lower jaw improved, and the absolute size of my face 'looks' smaller. It did not actually become smaller, but it looks smaller. That's why I'm satisfied.

The sensory loss I was worried about seemed to be almost gone after about a month, and because my bruising and swelling were on the severe side, only now, a year later, do I feel like my face feels almost similar to before surgery. As for skin sagging or cheek sagging, I can't say I have it yet, but separate from sagging, I can feel that the fat is not settling well within my bone structure. Seeing that doctors also say it is better to have the surgery when young, I think having it in my early 20s may have had an effect too.

To evaluate the clinic itself, I'm not sure the coordinators were extremely kind; I think they were kind exactly as much as needed. The person who was there when I had my consultation was nice. After I booked the surgery, on my next visit I couldn't see her anymore, maybe she had left the job. One unusual point? Advantage? was that ghost surgery was a big issue one month before my surgery, so right before surgery I requested to view the CCTV. They said it was possible, but I think they said they would allow things like watching it in fast-forward, or having my parents enter midway through the surgery and observe in 10-minute intervals. At the time, just the fact that they allowed it made me feel reassured. Please keep this in mind if you want that.
