Gum problems after orthodontic treatment

Even during my orthodontic consultation, I was told that the tooth roots could become shorter and the gums could recede, but maybe because I did not manage them well, the gum side effects are pretty... severe. Actually, when I think about my parents' gums, it also seems genetic... But it is also a fact that it got drastically worse after orthodontic treatment... I am still young^^ so my teeth are not sensitive or anything, but even at a glance, the condition makes me think, ah, this is ruined; when I am old I will struggle a lot and end up getting implants... They say there is not really any treatment for gums, right ㅋㅎㅋㅎㅎㅋㅎ I think a big reason is that I got orthodontic treatment when I was too young and did not manage it at all. Those of you getting orthodontic treatment when you are older, please take care of it diligently. Do everything the clinic tells you to do with proper brushing... Please, if you do not want your money to feel wasted, please also use your post-treatment retainer properly. I was a student preparing for entrance exams, so I did not use it because it stressed me out, and now I am regretting it like crazy. Of course, in my case my teeth alignment absolutely needed orthodontic treatment for therapeutic purposes too, so I do not regret having done it, but please manage it diligently. Seriously, I am begging you. Everyone reading this, when you get orthodontic treatment, please listen to your doctor. Please. That is the way to reduce side effects and make your money not feel wasted...^^
