I received orthodontic treatment for about 2 years for mild crowded teeth, protruding mouth, and a receding chin. I had only the two upper wisdom teeth extracted on both sides, and the teeth were pulled back into that space. From the start, I wanted to avoid retracting the mouth too much and keep it natural. Last month the appliances were removed, and the day before yesterday I received my retainer and am wearing it now. During treatment, my gums swelled up a lot and it was painful, but after the appliances were removed, I started brushing well and now that the swelling is gone, I am so happy. My teeth were aligned nicely, and I think my mouth has pulled in a little, so my lips look thinner than before, which I am satisfied with.
