Before <Before double eyelid surgery.. This was the day I took my graduation photo.. I want to go to school> After <After double eyelid surgery.. The day of graduation..> Hello, I’m someone who just finished the CSAT and just turned twenty~~
I had ordinary monolid eyes that were neither big nor small, and while studying with friends at school, I would look in the mirror, make a double eyelid, show my friend, and joke around saying, “Should I get double eyelid surgery? Should I?”... I only talked about it like that, but after the CSAT really ended, I went around to several clinics near Gangnam and got consultations for double eyelid surgery!!
I really went to so many clinics.......... Even though it was during the COVID situation, everyone really only looked at my eyes during the consultation, so even when I asked, “Is it okay to consult without looking at my nose and mouth??” I only heard answers like, “Yes, that’s fine” (sometimes there were doctors who said, “Then please pull it down~”.. hehe). But here, I didn’t say anything, and as soon as I went in, they first told me to take off my mask and wear a headband to push back my bangs, so I was kind of moved? This was truly the first person like that (really). Anyway, after looking at my face, they shaped a double eyelid line for me. They asked me, “How about this one? How about that one?” and among them I told them the line height I liked best~
During senior year, I constantly looked in the mirror alone, tried making double eyelid lines, and observed my face, and I had thought that a thin and natural double eyelid suited my face best. The lines the director made for me were also natural lines. A natural in-out line that wasn’t too much?? I felt a little like they had read my mind.. And I liked that they didn’t recommend a thick, burdensome line.
Also, at other places, some told me to get epicanthoplasty, some told me to get ptosis correction, and some said I had to remove fat (...!), so it felt like not just buried suture double eyelid surgery, but like “do this and that too~.” But here they just said to do only buried suture. So I think trust? confidence? kind of welled up inside me......
The director was kind, and the consultation manager was also extremely kind, so I liked it!! I’m not just saying “they were kind as a formality~”; they were genuinely nice. After that, I went home, decided with my mom to do it here, and had the surgery!!
During surgery, I had local anesthesia. (I asked, “Don’t you do sedation anesthesia??” and the manager recommended local anesthesia instead of sedation. They said that during surgery they ask you to open your eyes to check the line, and if you do sedation anesthesia, you can’t open your eyes properly.) It was a little scary, but manageable. Actually, I was pretty scared (I’m such a scaredy-cat I can’t even watch Train to Busan), but I think having this kind of experience once in life? isn’t bad. And because it was local anesthesia, I could hear everything the director said while operating (“Raise it above the bed~ A little more to the side~ Good~ Uh, a little lower~ Yes~”) (I don’t think you really need to worry about things like shadow doctors; you can hear everything). Also, the nurse next to me gave me a Piglet doll to hold, and when I was in pain, she held my hand, so I was able to rely on her emotionally too........ Thank you. You probably won’t see this post, but I really could endure it thanks to youㅠ I’m very easily scared...........
The surgery went well~~.. After exactly one week, a lot of the major swelling had gone down, and by around 2 weeks, all the bruising was gone. I had asked so much for it to be natural, and it really turned out natural, so I was very happy~
In week 2, I went to school because of the vacation ceremony.... A friend told me that even when I closed my eyes, there was no scar and that I looked like someone who originally had double eyelids, so I felt so good. The kids praised me a lot, saying it would look pretty once a little more swelling went down (of course, it hadn’t even been a month yet). Thanks, guys~
Like that, 3 weeks.. 4 weeks.. 5 weeks.. Now it’s been almost about 50 days? A few days ago, I had graduation, so I went to school wearing pretty makeup~ Then all my friends said it was a complete success, that it didn’t look obvious, and that it would be pretty once a little more swelling went down (of course, it hasn’t even been two months yet.....). I got tons of compliments, so I went around sharing the plastic surgery clinic info, saying it was ㅇㅇ백 in Sinnonhyeon.......... hehe Guys, go get pretty too
I asked so much for it to be natural like this, and they really made it natural. I liked that even when I closed my eyes, there wasn’t a “I had double eyelid surgery” look? scar line? or anything like that. My friend looked at me and said, “Oh.. there really is no scar. I should do buried suture too.”
This got too long, so I’ll summarize..
1. I liked that they looked at my whole face and recommended double eyelids that suited my face 2. The consultation manager and doctor were kind 3. They didn’t strongly recommend or push other things like fat removal or ptosis correction 4. You can directly hear the director doing the surgery (I don’t think you need to worry about proxy surgery? or anything like that) 5. It turned out subtle and not obvious, just as I requested for it to look natural 6. I just like the surgical result. (ㅎ..)
