Getting Ultherapy doesn't automatically mean you'll get cheek hollowing, so if you look into it carefully before doing it, I think the effect is pretty good. Because my jawline had collapsed, I got 400 shots of Ultherapy under sedation. I have cheekbones and tend to have hollowness right below them, so they said they would avoid that area, and I had no hollowing and didn't become peanut-shaped.
I also have some fat along my jawline and lack elasticity, so they focused a lot on that area. Maybe because of that, I had some bruising afterward. Since it was done under sedation, there was no pain while receiving it, but after the anesthesia wore off and I checked the mirror, there was swelling and my jaw felt numb and achy.
My front cheekbones, cheek area, and down to the jaw below my ears were swollen overall, but after a day, the swelling went down faster than I expected. The bruising gradually faded after about 3 days! The jaw pain lasted about a week. The pain wasn't severe, but a stiff and tingling feeling lingered faintly for quite a while.
I only started to feel the effect after 2 weeks. My jawline started becoming more defined, so my face felt slimmer than before? I could feel that my skin had tightened Even when washing my face and applying basic skincare, when I touched my face, it felt like a lot of the sagging areas were gone? Anyway, that's how it was
In my experience, downtime for Ultherapy is about a week if you allow enough time, and the effects seem to start showing little by little from week 2! For everyone here who has some facial fat and is bothered by a collapsed jawline, I think it's worth trying at least once.
