Before/before/after/after I had surgery on Friday, so over the weekend I spent a really hard time at home, unable to breathe properly, but as soon as Monday came, the cotton in my nose was removed and I felt much better. The swelling generally moved down from my forehead to my chin, and on day 7, when the splint was removed, the swelling was especially concentrated around my nose.. Right after the splint was taken off, my nose actually felt very firm and swollen, but I was curious about it, and the moment I saw my nose, I did feel slightly disappointed. Still, I found comfort after seeing posts in various communities saying that if you’re satisfied with your nose right after the nasal splint comes off, that means the surgery failed, and I worked hard to manage it by walking diligently and drinking swelling-reduction tea.
There was slight pain when removing the nasal stitches, but because the period when cotton was inserted and I couldn’t breathe was the most painful, the other pains were comparatively very bearable.
On day 13, I visited the hospital and had the remaining stitches and the stitches behind my ear removed. But removing the small stitches hurt much more than removing the large stitches….
Even so, what was definitely good was that after the splint came off, I could feel the swelling going down day by day. Until week 2, the flesh at the tip of my nose felt somewhat tight and firm. I think all I could think was that I wanted to reach the 6-month mark as soon as possible.
I went to the hospital, saw the director, and asked several things I was curious about, and he answered in detail. Until then, the swelling hadn’t gone down enough, so it seemed a little crooked, and I still felt stuffy because it seemed like scabs of blood were stuck inside my nose. At one month after surgery, I could feel some sensation at the nasal tip, and I also started exercising again, so I’m able to get by well without much trouble.
People around me say it looks so natural that some people don’t even notice. Still, when I cough or feel a foreign body sensation inside my nose, I am a bit cautious about touching it carelessly.
I think the swelling changed the most around weeks 3 to 4. The swelling gradually went down little by little, and it became somewhat balanced. Even at weeks 3 to 4, the scar marks on the incised area were still somewhat visible, and since about 1 to 2 stitches remained inside my nose, I sometimes felt a small amount of pain.
People around me say my nose turned out very naturally and well, and every time I hear that, I feel good. I’m proud because it seems the result is good in proportion to how much I went through and endured!
