I think LASEK is one of the best things I have done. Unless people doing LASIK or SMILE have special circumstances, I wish they would do LASEK. Seriously, my eyes are healthier than my original eyes, and even in the 5th year my vision goes back and forth between 1.5 and 2.0. I became Mongolian. I don't think I had ever seen the world with such clear eyes before my 20s. The clarity is different from glasses.
Most people are probably most worried about pain. If you go to a pharmacy, they sell menthol eye drops. Ask for the coolest product and try putting it in your eyes. The feeling of putting that in for 3 days is what LASEK feels like. I tested it on guys in the military, and everyone who had tried LASEK agreed.
The director was skilled and also left a lot of remaining cornea. I think expensive pricing is unavoidable because there is demand.
