I have been wearing contact lenses every day for over 10 years, and because my lens powers are -9 and -8.5 diopters, which is ultra-high myopia, I was only considering lens implantation. I went for eye examinations at two ophthalmology clinics near Sinsa Station where there are directors known as ICL reference doctors.
At the first place I went to, they said a dilation exam was not necessary, so I just had a consultation. At the second place, they said a dilation exam was required, so after the eye exam, I proceeded with the dilation exam. After the tests, they confirmed that the lens was in stock, and after the consultation, I decided to have it done the same day.
Because it was a hospital that required a dilation exam and specialized in the more difficult cataract surgery, it felt a little more conservative and safe, so I decided on H Eye Clinic.
After washing my face, the surgery was performed, and it was much more distressing than I expected
It felt like it took about 7-10 minutes per eye, and right after surgery, for the eye that was done second, I wore an eye patch? and moved to the waiting room. Right after surgery, I immediately took the prescribed medication, and because the pain was severe, I bought extra Tylenol and took 1 tablet. On the way home, I could barely make out the road, and I went home with my eyes almost closed.
My vision was still blurry until that evening, but before going to sleep I started seeing a little better, and the next day, fortunately, it was okay enough that I went to work normally and worked. (It is possible to go to work right away, but I do think resting would be better.)
Only one eye had redness for 1-2 weeks, maybe because of the anesthetic injection, and I received about 3-4 days' worth of oral medication and about 1 week's worth of eye drops. When I look at lights in the dark, there is a ring phenomenon, but I think it will gradually improve! I think I just need to be careful with washing my face/makeup/exercise, etc. for a certain period, and I am also satisfied that I can return to daily life right away~
